Do you think staking should be removed?

Do you think staking/gambling form of the duel arena should be removed from the game because of all the toxic activities it attracts?

 

No. There is no purpose to the game without competition.

 

So the game had no purpose before free trade came back? I think the game was more competitive back then since you had to make the money yourself

There are a lot of positives and negatives to removing staking from the game. I think the negatives would have a much bigger impact in player activity, which is why I think it will never be removed again.

 

I'm fine with it being there, but I think when it was added back in 2003 or whatever jagex didn't have the intention of it polarizing so much wealth in the game and causing so much rwt.

Tbh nothing good comes from the Duel Arena, and I personally would not care to see it removed. No chance of Jagex doing so though, it would kill player activity.

 

Pretty much. The removal of free trade crippled the game, and it never recovered.

 

Only reason I used to play is to stake.. Staking is a huge % of all the RS players, so no, it wouldn't be a good idea to remove it.

Staking has their positive and negative sides, but i think the positive sides outweigh the negatives for most people.
Also, a good minigame should not be removed just because it encourages others to break the rules, jagex should take action against the abusers instead.

 

As much as I thought I hated trade limit, it wasn't that bad looking back at it. I would vote yes if I poll came out to remove free trade. As long as pvp armour and all that good stuff came back

And at the same time cripple the game.

Gambling has been a huge part of this game for so long. Jagex will never get rid of it, or RWT, and banning staking wouldn't help the problem at all

 

Keep in mind there is a small group of a few stakers that make up dozens of those accounts each.

 

Of course it brings a lot of negative things, but also it gives more action to the game, as a lot of users play only for staking (of course not that much as we see in duel arena - probably less) so i think theres no way that jagex will remove it
