CS:GO Market: Sub-forums for Buy & Sell

Hello guys, Vypr here quite a simple suggestion here in which the CS:GO market has two sub-forums one for people with shops buying or wanting to buy a specific item, and another sub-forum for people who purely want to sell whether that's a specific item or they have a shop full. The reason I suggest this as I like to browse through the market to find a good buy for myself, and 75% of the shops are only looking to buy which is fairly frustrating, and I feel others would understand my pain too.

This would really only serve one main purpose (apart from the niche idea stated in OP) and that would be a free post count to all the major companies who buy\sell csgo items.

It's actually that way for the more popular sections. The CSGO Market section is simply not active enough to warrant 2 separate sections. Right now an 8 hour bump moves you from the first page... To the top of the first page.

Anyway I wouldn't mind a test run of this, OP is right and it can be frustrating for users to find a thread that is actually selling. You can only create 1 thread for both buying and selling, this leads people to bump their threads even though they don't have anything to sell and are actually looking to buy.

I suggest making the CSGO market more visible on the front page of the forums. It is definitely active enough to warrant its own Forum, and should not simply be a sub-forum of the Steam Market. It should be listed on Other Games Markets.

At this very moment, 15 people are actively viewing the CS:GO Trading Forum. That can be compared to 16 people viewing LoL Markets Forum (4 subforums), 9 people viewing WoW Markets Forum (4 subforums), and 1 person viewing the FIFA Market (1 subforum). I think it's quite clear that CSGO definitely deserves its own section in here.

Assuming that increases activity (which I believe it will), then we should revisit this suggestion and expand it into Buy / Sell.

 

The CS:GO Market should have it's own forum, it is one of the most active markets on Sythe and if it were more publicly visible I think new users and lurkers might find it more easily accessible.

Is it possible to add another forum within a sub forum?

CS:GO is a sub forum in steam sales because it's an extension of steam. If we make a separate forum for cs:go, would we still allow it in steam sales? I imagine not, but it does make sense to keep it in steam sales.

 

Definite support on this, CS GO has become pretty big recently and deserves its sub forums for sure.

 

I like this idea. It doesn't get much posts but that could be because of how some threads don't have what one is looking for. It's been doing pretty well for a sub forum.

 

I'm going to amend my statement with a counter-suggestion.

We can't deny it's property of valve and giving it a new forum is a bit extreme, but what is needed is to break up the type of threads into smaller sub-sections (Account sales, boosting and items)[See LoL Sub-Forum]

 

Steam Market and Xbox/Playstation Market are in "Other Markets" rather than just "Other Game Markets" because they are not directly selling in-game items, but are instead selling accounts, codes, and memberships (nothing in-game). CS:GO is 100% DIRECTLY selling in-game items, thus it deserves it's own FORUM inside the "Other Game Markets" completely separate from Steam Sales (which would remain in "Other Markets" by itself). There's a reason why FIFA itself is in "Other Game Markets" but Xbox/Playstation, the consoles it's played on, aren't. It's because FIFA market is for GAME items whereas Xbox/Playstation market is for codes and memberships and the like.

Also keep in mind that to sell games for a console, you'd need to sell the physical copy of the disk, which would immediately put it in either "Xbox" or "Real-life" sales, both of which are correctly grouped in "Other Markets" rather than "Other Game Markets" for reasons I explained above.

EDIT: Also, the description of the Steam Sales forum is "Sell your steam accounts and other steam related things here!" which further supports my point that "Other Markets" is for non-in-game items such as accounts rather than in-game items which are sold in the CS:GO market.

EDIT#2: Also, since CS:GO is becoming an increasingly popular market, it would be beneficial altogether to move it up a category on the front page regardless because it becomes easier to find (especially if it has it's own forum, rather than being a shitty sub-forum deep down in the "Other Markets" section underneath "Steam Sales"....

EDIT#3: The Steam Sales section by itself consists mostly of CS:GO threads anyways, all of which were incorrectly posted outside of the CS:GO sub-forum inside it

 

Support, CSGO has grown so much in the last 6 months.

Can you clarify what you mean by this? My interpretation of this doesn't really make sense - they are 2 completely different games and due to the popularity of both, they both deserve their own subforums for buy/sell

 

Good. I feel enough has been said, and a decision should be made. I'm all in for the fix.

IMO CS:GO market is not that big to require these changes, no support from here
