Talon <3

Hello there,
I've been maining talon for years, and I think currently it's pretty hard to carry with him, how do you think is possible to carry with him in high elo? (high dia/master).
I was master in S4, had 70% win ratio in 200 games, played with talon only, and, I even reached challenger for some days.
I'd love to hear your opinion on him, how versatile he is, how easy or hard to counter him etc.

Talon is just extremly weak early, compared to someone like zed his damage is nothing early plus his laning phase is complete shit and he's mana intensive. Now, he has pretty nice burst at level 6 and has kill pressure, I think he's strongest midgame. Lategame teamfights are different from midgame ones, you can't just ult become invis and ghostblade eqw the adc because you have no way of escaping. You just suicide for the enemy carries and if they have something like a janna/lulu you're pretty much fucked. As you've only got 1 gapcloser, 1 way in and no way out.

 

i'm glad you brought up zed, Zed/yasuo are extremely hard to play against as talon. you're absolutely right about mana problems and lacking lane pressure. Tho late game I can't do anything, especially when playing against tank meta. Shyvana jungle/nasus top/ww etc. its just too hard to play him if you got pinked every tf. also lulu and kayle can be pretty painful.
I think he is just not versatile enough

 

I deffinetly like his q and r as a skill. I think his w mechanic is pretty sweet too as it goes out and comes back again, but it might neef somr tweaking done. About his passive/e, that should be completly changed, he should receive mobility updates and maybe a new passive (even more bleeding?). Right now what I do when I play him is just build IE triforce GB Hydra mobis and cleavr and just suicide kill the adc (also gotta hope that I crit) because if its a tristana and u've already used e she can jump/ult you and bye bye kill.

 

I'd say a new passive should be recieved, like if Talon gets a kill, he becomes untargetable for 1 sec. which is not so op but can also provide versatile machanics.
Or I'd chance his e to something like this: teleports to enemy champion, if you manage to kill it in 3 sec, you'll be returned to the original place you've cutthroated from

 

It should have something to do with his blades. Riot likes implementing lore into the champions abilities. Anyway, Talon can deffinetly carry games by himself, he's just not optimal.

 

You are master tier...so it seems like you've got a firm grasp on what works/doesn't work.

I'm no talon player but with the nerf to armour items as of the most recent patches, I believe Talon is going to have a minor buff to his damage. He seems to be snowball reliant to carry games, being aggressive might be your best bet.

 

what got nerfed ? wasn't it just thornmail? randuins got a buff and they added 3 new tank items.

talon's fine (soloq wise) but i don't see him being dominant like he used to when he had a silence on his E.

 

Removing silence is a really huge and painful nerf was to him. I regret riot having done it, as all assassins have greater variety of movement speed now.

 

The problem about being able to silence your enemies is that there is little to no counterplay to it. Especially as an AP mage you just die to Talons burst. Thzt's why they did it.

 

In 1 sec, a zed can just burst you down if played properly, maybe they should have changed it to 0.5 sec silence, but any1 can flash or gap closer away, and if they do and its a late game tf, talon has no way to escape if tf is pinked.

 

I'm not a fan of the champion overall, but he does have some pretty sick AoE/burst with hydra. I've had games where enemy talon one shots 5 stacked people with hydra/w/r. Also, zed ult doesn't stop you from using zhonyas, silence does ;P

 

But zed is way more versatile, watch dade's talon getting caught by zed, it's a well-known video and really shows a good talon has no change against a good zed.

 

The only problem with him is that he is not versatile at all:/
