    Canadians?

Growing up in the states, I have never been or exposed to the life in Canada. Could someone describe to me how Canadians differ from Americans? The people, culture, etc. Thanks!

I would hardly generalize all of Canadian and all of the U.S., where you go in either will have very different cultures (ex: Alberta Canada vs. Quebec). Some of Canada (Quebec) has a lot of French culture/language/etc. while others you will find have very little.

Oh and: here, you'll get better info there than some input that requires the comparison of two (very big and diverse) cultures.

As a general rule as a traveler you're going to see the nicer side of people. As a Canadian I can tell you Americans where I have traveled for a general rule seem like awesome people but I'm willing to bet just like "Canadians are all so nice" doesn't actually hold true for a large portion of people. People here are the same as every developed country. Some feel entitled and love to bitch about everything and what not but there are some genuinely nice people.

I've been living in Canada for the past 18 years or so and from someone who visits the states often (NYC/Seattle). There really isn't much of a difference. There are more similarities than differences.

Something I have noticed is that in Canada, food portions are noticeably smaller.

Fun fact : some Americans who go traveling pretend to be Canadian so people are nicer to them and don't judge them.

I live in Canada. Gets mighty hot where I live in the summer and maybe 2-3 days of snow during the winter

Even in areas right by the water (Toronto) this year there were a lot more than 5 days of snow lol, and a few large snowstorms too

One of my friends from PEI talked about the huge snowstorm they got there, so much that i remember him linking me a news article about a man having to dig a tunnel to get to his car

I live in Canada and I'd like to say we are kind people but I can't confirm that, I don't know if anyone can but there's kind and unkind people in every country. I will say Quebec sucks though and the language feud here is ridiculous.

Much more "right by the water"

Regardless I've lived inwards so I know during some winters it gets stupidly cold.

I went to Toronto last summer actually and it was stupidly warm. Like the second you get off of the plane you can feel the humidity in the air making it hard to breathe.

Thankfully I was on a business trip and spent most of my time in the air conditioned hotel room or working.

Canadians and Americans share a number of characteristics. The stereotype is that canadians are nice, but americans are pretty nice as well. Canada in general is more homogeneous, so perhaps that's why they're able to maintain that reputation.
