Looking to get a gaming console with a friend but havent ever really gamed... help

A friend and I are looking to buy a gaming console to keep in touch. Its been years since i've gamed. I'm so out of the loop. I don't want to pay a lot for one of the newest consoles (I doubt she does either) so we are looking to get one of the previous consoles. I need game suggestions and for what console... Being able to play online with each other is a must. We like racing games. Is there any racing games that we can play online with each other? What other games might a girl like that is multiplayer? We aren't really in to call of duty lol. So game suggestions? Console suggestion? Keep in mind we are both on student budget so we aren't looking for the best console out there...

 

Just get an older Xbox360 and get GTA 5, all of the girls that i dated / talked to would just play that cause it's really simple, they can do whatever they want, and there's different game modes from deathmatch to racing and missions you can do aswell.

 

Don't bother getting a PS3 if you're going for an last generation console. Go for the Xbox 360, even though you will have to pay for Xbox Live, it's structured alot more better for online gaming. Forza franchise is good for racing, as well as (if on last gen console) The Crew. It's a car racing MMO basically. Scaled down version of America I think.

Get a 360 and buy a forza game. Get an Xbox live subscription and you're both good to go. Idk price tag, haven't really looked. Live included i guess 200$? I would suggest a normal xbox and an older forza game but you won't be able to play online together.

$200 is definitely in our budget. What do you mean by a normal xbox? By that do you mean an xbox 360? The whole point of us gaming is to play together so whatever games they would need to be so we can play them together.

I would say Xbox 360, owned and played that console from age 12-18. Had great times with friends in the party chat.

call of duty and destiny are great easy games to play with friends. minecraft also for console is sweet

 

Xbox One. Be up to date with the newest console.

 

We want to stick with one of the cheaper consoles like xbox 360.

You can get kinect, this is a lot more fun
I only played Olympic games with it, but i liked it

If you end up getting a new gen console get a PS4 for sure as it has better games than the xbox one, but if not I'd recommend an xbox 360 as it has better games than the PS3.

 

Get some freesytle games like Skate 3. I had great times on that game

 

Both xbox one and ps4 are out of my budget.

 

I'd get an xbox360 and go to gamestop and look through the used games to find some cheap ones you may be interested in

 

don't know why people hate ps3 live so much especilly when its free. I would recommend you getting ps3 for free live and its much more easier to control imo. And as for games, I recommend GTA 5 or burnout paradise

 

It really doesn't matter. I like the style of xbox more. Either console would do. You could even get a Wii.

 

Not sure if this is old, but something about xbox going down is all on xbox's twitter about servers being shut down, so you might want to be wary of that. now ps3. I'm not sure about that.
