I don't think it will ever reach $2 per mill again personally.

 

Dont create more and more new threads, there are few with tons of people talking, so you wont hear anything new here.

To answer the topic, i agree that it wont reach 2$, it should stabilize around 1.5$.

 

Doubt it will ever reach $2/m again unless old school either somehow becomes extremely popular with thousands of new players or jagex creates a very good money sink (both of these things are very unlikely to happen)

 

It won't. There's not enough demand even with the new updates. It may rise a bit though

 

I highly doubt it. Gold is kind of stabilizing at the prices it is at now/rising a tiny tiny amount after a huge drop.

More and more gold gets brought into the game by alching and monster drops and shop selling but it never really gets taken out (NMZ 6k and Trident 25GP per cast? top fucking kek).

In addition to that, there is way more gold being sold than being bought. If you go to try and sell gold Sunday night every single shop is full pretty much full from all the weekend botters. Do you see Jagex doing anything that would bring in a bunch of new players to increase that demand? The truth is most people are botting/gamblers/veterans who prefer the old game and very little are new players. F2P is filled with bots at all times so anyone who tries the game in F2P will likely not continue to P2P unless they really really like it or they just move on to botting themselves.

There's probably other reasons but these are the two main big ones.

 

I think a moneysink could easily be added with all the new upcoming content , allowing gold to continue to rise

 

The max cape did pass in the poll, and there's around 111 maxed players as of now, so thats a ~250m gold sink. Not much, but better than nothing.

 

Jagex looks seriously into people opinion, i think if they see that game needs gold sink (its obvious that gold sink is a must) they will do something. It shouldnt be very hard to invent some new gold sink methods

Look at the difference between the amount of alchables bought and sold each day. According to OSBuddy, yesterday there were ~1M Yew longbows sold and ~1.2M bought. That's ~1.5B in a day or ~60M per hour from one of many common alchables assuming most of the difference was alched (Which is very probable). OSBuddy doesn't even come close to grasping the real numbers though. The official RuneScape GE tool that actually tracks everything says 4.7M were actually traded yesterday. If that counts completed bought and sold offers than there's actually 2x more than OSBuddy thinks there is. If it counts the amount of items traded and not the completed bought and sold offers there's actually 4x more than OSBuddy thinks. I'm not sure which one it actually tracks but you can see OSBuddy data is only a part of the market.

On top of that, high level PvM content drops stacks of 10k+ Coins often as well as all the alching done while PvMing.

There are also gold farms that Woodcut, Spin Flax, Fletch and Alch that are totally unaccounted for by OSBuddy or the official RuneScape GE tool.

There are also many shop selling bots that buy random stuff like Steel platebodies, Adamant platebodies, Battlestaves, Arrows, Longbows, etc. and sell them to the shop at Karamja ABOVE ALCH VALUE. That shop is always full of random junk.

That number is not an exact value and it obviously fluctuates but if you look at just the common alchable stuff it's a pretty damn good guess. There is probably even more GP than that brought into the game each hour IMO.

It would be rare for Gp to go up since there is more gold coming into the game than demanded

 

Im don't see the gp actually rising ever again lol, we had our good times.
Theres more mills comming, soon enough the price will be 0.50/m

 

... Prices will never be the same. I think that the RuneScape market will be dead in 1-2 years. Or barely any profit in it.

 

I don't know why everyone is being so narrow minded, there are god damn membership bonds in the game. At least 60-70% off player pay their membership with their in game currency, the price of bond have actually gone up since their release. 25k players * 2m thats a 50b++ semi monthly gold sink that won't die out for a long time!!

 

It's not far fetched if you think about it. It's probably not that high on average, but it's definitely close.
