    Questions pertaining to botting

Hello, I am interested in the idea of botting; however, I am trying to research some of the important steps that go along with it before I jump in. Most of my questions pertain to VPN/VPS/proxies and things of that sort. Below are some questions that I would like to have answered - if you could answer them, it would be greatly appreciated! :)

    1) So basically I am a little confused as to why people use regular VPNs since my understanding is that it is a computer which people from multiple computers around the world can utilize (but not control) essentially for anonymity and its IP address. When you have many different people using the same IP address (and I would assume a notable amount are botting), once one gets caught wouldn't that IP address be flagged by Jagex, therefore rendering it almost useless for future use and all others using it? If you want to have a bot for more than a day, does it make sense to even use cheap/free VPN?

    2) Basing off the first question, is there any way to tell how many people are using a specific VPN?

    3) Do more expensive VPN services only allow a few amount of people to use a specific VPN? If so, why don't they just use the same computer except as a VPS ?

    4) To my understanding, you are only supposed to run about 2-3 bots per IP address, that being said, why would you use not use a VPS over a VPN since you can see what is happening on the computer and you can make sure you are the only one using it?

    5) Pertaining to VPS and VPNs, are the computers used as these respective things really just set aside so that they can stay on and idle for the sole purpose of letting other people use them remotely? It would seem silly for someone to just set aside a computer for its potential use as a VPS/VPN.

    6) If you partition your computer, does your new partition have a different IP address and or Mac Address? I would assume it wouldn't since my understanding is that your IP address comes from your router, but if I was wrong, I have toyed with the idea of using partitions until they are caught and then deleting them. I would assume that this is not the case since a partition is still part of the same computer, its just using different memory and it is obviously still on the same router.

    7) Is it possible to change your IP address without tampering with the router/ internet - for example, if on a college campus, is there any way to change your IP address since you have no control over your college's internet?

Sorry for asking so many questions, I am trying to get a better understanding of how these systems works and it is kind-of interesting.

Any answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated :)

    Questions pertaining to botting

Most of what mottrucks has said I would agree with.

Personly iv found it best just to bot on the weekend. Ban rate is so lower at that time. Bot 5-10 accounts off the same ip on starting around 7pm Germany time and I stop the bots and collect all my gold around 4am Monday Germany time. Main reason I do this is I get sick of making bots during the week that only last 10-20 hours and my bots always seem to make it from Friday night till Monday morning Germany time zone. Normaly all get banned Some time Monday morning. That's just me tho.
VPS is the way to go if your thinking about it tho well worth the money if your going to try something like that. Just my tips I do. You might not mind making accounts or you might just have better luck then me botting during the week.
    7. Im 99% sure the answer is no.
