This thread is about discussing if you have ever been scammed in your life or not. It doesn't have to be someone from sythe. It can be getting scammed in general.

Yes. I'm sure we've all lent people money and have never got that money back. If that counts ^

 

This may come of as a surprise, but i've never been scammed before.

 

I've never been scammed in real life unless you consider lent money that I never seen back a scam; they were of small quantity and I considered them as gifts. I've been scammed on Sythe once through a chargeback when that first became a relatively new way to scam.

 

haha don't people just love the moment u lend them the money and hate the moment they pay u back? THAT IF they pay u back lol!

 

Got scammed 10m rs3 by one of my first friend on runescape. Sad times back in 2007.

Back when I was 13, I had lent my Xbox360 games to a friend whilst I was on holiday. When I cam back 2 months later, he said someone stole them and he would pay me back. I find out he sold all my games to my other friends and to stores. Kicked his ass and got suspended lol.

 

I have been scammed a few times through my runescape years. I once falled for the "Show inventory for full inv of sharks" scam. I also fell for a scam where the scammer put willow longbows (noted) instead of yew longbows which I were buying so I ended up losing a lot of cash. Sad times

On Sythe: Multiple times with Paypal chargebacks.

didn't know rs3 existed back in 2007

 

On Sythe very early on in like 2012 I was scammed by a DDoSer for like 15m. I was new to the virtual black market and we were talking on Sythe and he successfully booted me, turned my house's wifi off, and threatened to do more if I didn't pay. Being 14 and new to all of this, I panicked, gave him the money, and when he asked for more I just turned my laptop off and went to sleep.

Got scammed like 600m+ on RS3 by some IRL friends I grew up with. First time I got scammed on RuneScape I lost my rune sara set then quit not long after that lmao

 

I've been scammed a few times on here some out of stupidity/mistakes others bad luck. One notable crazy one. Never been stolen from or scammed in person though, not yet.

Back in the days of MSN, there was a script that copied the name/font of another person in the conversation perfectly. A scammer invited my AFK MSN account and the victim into the conversation. The scammer used the script to appear to be me in the form of a middleman and managed to scam about $100 from the victim. Of course the MSN matched mine perfectly, original screenshots, etc in the font/color I used. The victim genuinely thought it was me, and the report was posted off site (Powerbot), so I couldn't control it as much. I think Shin wasn't an admin there anymore, and I'm confident the victim wasn't a friend/in on it.

I entered up paying off the victim to avoid a ban on PB/more hassle but it was a genuine mess. We're all lucky there weren't too many smart scammers back then. Anyone who left their MSN AFK could've been a victim.

 

Yes i have been scammed. Few times in old school it was 2005-2006 and i was buying big bones and of course i got bones instead Now its funny story and brings me nostalgia.
Also in these days i were trying to buy membership for rsgp and were scammed too, cant remember how much gp, but that was major part of my hardly earned money.

 

Just got scammed today for 12.5m. Trade went smoothly, payment was sent to me through paypal, everything was good. I check my paypal an hour later and a false dispute had been placed against me for the payment. I'm fighting the case now. :/

 

I got scammed around 700m 07 from a few members here and about $700ish? from chargebacks.
