What project idea got you into programming?

What was the first project you wanted to create/finish when first getting into programming?

For me, I wanted to create a multiplayer poker application. Which, as of yet. Still not completed.

How about you?

 

L33t speak translator back in grade 8. Finished it and kept making it better and better ^_^

 

Good luck with that man. There's lots out there, but there are also lots of gamblers out there too!

The first thing I ever really wanted to create was to make a virtual Mastermind game. After watching basic Hello World videos, I forgot about it and started other projects as I learned more. Might try making it soon.

 

One of my big ones I actually did finish twice was a fractal maker that I used to do a project in high school.

 

I've always wanted to make an independent game. Something like Papers please, that is technically simple but something unique and memorable.

Currently straying from that and working on web development, but hopefully someday it'll e a thing

Using an application called scrath to make games opened my mind up to a new world

 

No project really got me into programming. I took an intro to programming class (python) my first year as an elective... I don't really know why... I think because I wanted to find out what programming was because I had never experienced it. I had no programming in high school. It wasn't until a few years later that I actually decided that programming was for me. It was when I made my first iOS application. It was a simple bus application that showed students at my campus when the next bus would be coming at any bus stop in the campus.
