Should I upgrade to 10? or stay at 7? I hated 8 and 8.1. So I don't know if 10 would be any better. Is it much of a improvement on the way it runs? Like Cpu usage etc. Would love your opinions. Thank you. xD

It's normal for a new Windows OS to have issues on launch. Just wait a week (maybe a month?). Windows 7 is perfectly stable for now, so just stick with that for the time being.

As said avobe, I'm gonna wait a few months before I update to Windows 10 because of bugs, etc, etc.

I'm installing it as we speak, I've never had issues with RTM builds of any OS and I've been upgrading right on release day (even before) since Vista. 10 is a solid product but is more similar to 8 than 7, so you might not be happy with what you get. The downside is that you'd only be delaying the inevitable. This is the way Windows is going, if you stay with 7 you'll be just as bad as those who still use XP these days because of the differences between it and 7. I say bite the bullet and get used to 10 while you've got the time.

EDIT: Learned Windows 10 in a few minutes, settings and all. I recommend the switch. It's similar enough to 7 that you won't feel like you've made a huge leap.

Been using 10 for a few months now on my laptop and made the leap of faith last weekend and upgraded my pc to 10 as well. It's well worth it. Some small kinks here and there, but they'll be ironed out very quickly I can assure you.

Awesome, I greatly appreciate the input. I've been thinking the same thing about waiting because I always wait on iOS updates for iPhone. I wasn't sure if I should do the same on PC. Also I do see your point about delaying the inevitable. I heard this will be the platform for future releases so I'm gonna have to get used to it someday. I've been told it's a free upgrade for good and others say 1 year. Anyone know which is correct?

Upgrading to windows 10 right now, burning .iso to my flash drive. Will report back as well.

update: Going smoothly so far, right now its installing critical updates. I haven't really checked out any previews, or tested a build version. So it'll be a new experience :p

update 2: Fully installed, all windows updates done, made genuine. Looks pretty nice so far, time to play with it.

I went ahead and upgraded this morning. Much better of a transition than going to 8/8.1. No issues yet, so I'm quite impressed atm. xD

The nice thing is that they're not going to come out with a new OS for a long time. They're just going to keep upgrading it with free windows updates, since the build was designed to be able to do that.

I've got 8.1, is upgrading worth it?

I upgraded from 7 and I'm quite happy with it. I didn't really like 8 or 8.1 so I think you will be satisfied. :p
