    Is cancer research a scam?

Cancer research charities have been going on for 40 years. Those charities have gained well over billions of dollars with no actual progress worth mentioning. Is cancer really something pharmaceutical companies want the cure for?

I beg to differ that they haven't made any progress towards stopping cancer.

I heard a few days ago that 20 years ago 85% of people with breast cancer (as an example) died from it, whereas now it stands at around 50%.

    Is cancer research a scam?

while it might be cancer charities that are directly funding their development, i don't think cancer research is, on the whole, a scam. talking about the effectiveness of charities is another topic entirely (and also one that i have a few months of experience dealing with). there are drugs like keytruda and opdivo now. how are they not marked progress?
