immediately closed unauthorized case?

So long story short, i sold 25m to a scammer, next day he opened unauthorized claim.I got usual email from paypal that i have 7 days to upload evidences etc.next moringing i get one more email, saying the case is closed, because i havent met "Seller Protection performance requirements"

Type of chargeback:Unauthorized
I had him send the payment as a gift+add a note "payment is for virtual goods" maybe thats why it got closed without letting me call them and upload proof.

I think i wont ask for such a note again from this point.What i am going to ask are Buyers skype, email , RSN.

One more questione.How do i forward paypal receipt?Is it a email that you get from paypal about sent payment?Or is it the picture of Transaction Details?

If i get it right, receipt is some kind of confirmation like an ID, that buyer owns paypal account.

One more queston From what amount do you guys ask for ID?I have heard big sellers demands ID from ~20m+.

I'm pretty sure as a gold shop owner you are eligible to require ID verification for any and all payments, no matter the sum. It's your choice, not theirs.

 

I think this has something to do with Paypal's recent VG's change. Did the chargeback mention anything about a credit card reversal?

 

I reviewed it again and couldn'd find anything about credit card.It obnly says it's Unauthorized and that i haven't met "Seller Protection performance requirements".

I have heard that paypal close disputes immediately for virtual trades, i think it might be the case this time.

 

It happens usually when the user calls in to PayPal, they do the checks on while they're on the phone and if they can see that its 100% fraud along with the fact that its for virtual goods, they'll just close it instantly

 

Anyone reviewing this case will see that you tried to get around PayPal's fees and the case won't be taken seriously (but most aren't anyways).

I'd recommend not receiving payments as gifts. Once enough of them get disputed you'll receive a phone call (if they don't close your account automatically) asking you to explain your payments. You can also be limited at any point in time for operating the way you seem to be.

Thanks for your insightful opinion, really appreciate it.The only reason why i am taking the risk, is since i am a new seller, it would be impossible to compete against other less established people who are taking gifts aswell.I have talked with a few well known sellers who happen to also accept gifts and they sayd that not a single problem arised during 2 years period.That being said, after my web launches, i am going to change payment type for sure.

When you make a purchase or send money paypal sends an email to your paypal account's registered email, it looks much different than the regular receipt you get on paypal once you send a payment, basically you ask them to forward this email to your email then cross reference the information provided in it with the payment and their credentials on livechat.

 

Gift does not have any protection if payment is fraudulent, you are automatically agreeing to their TOS and losing the dispute straight away.

 

I always invoice a payment to the user and request verification that they have authorized access to that specific paypal account, along with a form of identification.
Although, paypal doesn't cover virtual purchases, I always seem to lose the unauthorized claim disputes regardless of the information I have.

 

I know some gold sellers always ask for id. Some ask if its a big sale like 50m+ or 100m+
Personally it's always best to take pre-cautions when it comes to Paypal. Only take it from a person that you know wouldn't bs you in the long run.
