    Firing workers & Refunds

I've seen a couple of cases now where people have told their workers that they won't get their deposit back because they've been fired. Regardless of someone's TOS that's pretty shitty because sometimes these are rather large deposits and sometimes it's not in the worker's control to not be fired.

I'd like to propose that unless there is a reason outlined by staff then they should get their deposit back upon leaving work with another Sythe member regardless of if they decide to leave of their own accord or get fired. Obviously if they're fired for scamming/doing things on customer's accounts etc it won't apply, but it should protect those who are innocent.

Both of those cases really suck for the worker.

If they agree the deposit is non-refundable, non-refundable under certain conditions, or refundable completely based on the owners discretion then there is no scam.

Both of those cases seemed to have been ruled in favor of a refund. I don't see a necessary rule change.

    A non-refundable deposit under any condition isn't a deposit, it's a buyin.

The term deposit implies that there is an option to receive the cash/gold back, and serves as a safety measure for the employer.

I just mistyped. My point is any agreement between an employer and employee is fine. There doesn't need to be a rule dictating the terms of their agreement.

The terms are between the employee and the employer. Sythe moderation can't change that unless it defies Sythe rules or common sense.

This doesn't seem like something we can force the employers to do Sythe is a free market.

pretty much this. when there's a dispute about them, it can be solved by common sense 90% of the time. it'll be moderated on a case-by-case basis though.
