    spinning wheel of death issues

i've been getting swod issues with my mac recently. it's a 15" retina macbook pro. most of the time, the problem occurs with chrome, but it is fixed if i force quit chrome and reopen my windows. i think i have similar issues with other apps, but i just use chrome a lot more frequently than other apps. if you need more tech specs or can help me evaluate the problem please lmk - thanks!

Specs would be nice. Chrome is extremely RAM heavy. Try another browser and see if you get the same issues. What are the other apps you use where the issue also appears? Right now I'm thinking your RAM is filling up too quickly. Do you shut off your computer often? I hate suggesting this since it seems really condescending, but if it is in fact the RAM, turning it off and turning it back on should get you back on track.

If I'm wrong then take a look at this: http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/qt/Fix-Spod-How-To-Fix-A-Spinning-Pinwheel-Of-Death.htm

i'm thinking it's the same thing. i'll try to address it via googling "reduce ram usage" and the like, along with the link you posted. if the problem recurs i'll note when/where/how much ram is being used.

the only other program i can remember causing similar problems is netbeans, though i haven't used it in a few weeks (shame on me)

    thanks for the input!
