Exactly, when people try and imply horse meat is for poor people they clearly don't know how much horses go for.
On average over here in Australia a horse will go for $1000+ when I can go purchase a cow for $200

You can buy a horse for meat MUCH cheaper. They don't use young and fit horses for meat. Sure a nice riding horse is high dollar but an older horse for meat (export or dogfood) is cheap as hell. out here old horses are generally slaughtered for export to Canada, this practice is generally not spoken of because in the US horses are generally regarded as pets and not livestock. That's the taboo, not price (which is still dirt cheap).

I do still eat taco bell. It comprises a solid 75% of my diet.
Best value is hard to say, it all depends on what you want. My favorite is a shredded chicken burrito without avocado ranch or shredded chicken tacos with no lettuce.
