Suggestion on name changes!

I don't understand why people are asking name changes to be x$+ perk, 2fa, svu, etc. It seems like you're just making arbitrary requirements.

If you don't want too many people to do it and you don't want too much confusion, then only allow 1 name change per account. Simple as that. I don't mind a lower tier donor requirement for Sythe's sake but there's no other reason other than that.

 

Any new input from staff?

 

Support it would be nice for people who are workers to be able to change there name so people know they're a worker.

 

Wouldn't mind just being "Bogla" on Sythe if this passes

That affects a very small majority of people, so honestly that should not be a big deciding factor at all when deciding if this feature is added or not.

 

I don't think a single time name change should be out of the question for non-staff donators.

I think there should either be a 2-3 yr join date requirement or a large deposit held for ~1 month in the case of newer users.

 

I would be interested in hearing about this as well. Not that it should have an effect on the decision to be made.

 

Read the quote again, preferably the first sentence. It isn't about opposition, it's about compensation.

 

Deposits are a terrible sypherz.

Who would hold them?
What amount?
What if the person's who's holding the deposit quits?

Don't really post in this section but to be honest I think 1 name change should be allowed per account because of the fact were all human and make mistakes. Someone may have entered a troll name when registering or something that doesn't show who they actually are but of cause this shouldn't be enabled for anyone but lets say for 200$ donators because I'm sure the sythe staff wouldn't want too many people changing names due to confusion and unprofessional-ism.

 

This is an interesting topic. I believe users should have the opportunity to change their name and I'm sure the majority does too, but who and how should this be done?

I'd say the requirements should be the following:

• Donor (any amount should suffice, OR purchasing option just for name change)
• SVU
• Very good reasoning for such a change (determined by staff, obviously)
• "Previously known as ..."

In addition to the above, name changes should be offered every 365 days with a maximum of 3 name changes per accredited user.

It shouldn't matter how much the user has donated if they're verified by Sythe, which I guess would set a donor standard anyway ($25+ for SVU). The user reasoning must be along the lines of attempting to be more professional, new global renaming, etc. We don't need everyone attempting to change their names just to be jackasses. Also, for the sake of the market, the formerly/previously known as ___ is a must since the idea of a name change is hazardous to a market anyhow. Despite that being a concern, other black markets don't seem to have much of an issue with users purposely changing their usernames just to scam or harm the market.

 

I believe that everyone should have the ability to REQUEST a name change but every request should be handled on a case-by-case basis and not every request would necessarily be approved. I don't think this would get terribly chaotic as long as there is a mandatory usertitle/signature for a month that says "Formerly known as XXXX"

 

If this where to pass, would you be able to take old banned users names?

Such as 1 year has passed since they were banned?

I like this, but not sure why SVU and 2FA are required. I support it as a high level donor perk, and very limited in the amount of times you can do it (once per year, or once ever), perhaps an administrative fee, and your user title is changed to "formerly known as..." for a set amount of time.

 

if there was a fee how would it be accepted?
what would the fee be?
