Suggestion on name changes!

Support. Only thing I'd change is that UT should be changed to "last known as _____" for 6 months.

 

support pls, $!00 donor, SVU, reason/motive behind name change.

 

I'd love to see something like this implemented for those of us who have usernames which we made years and years ago.

I would see no issue with it with regulations:

One change - EVER.
3 year minimum account life
200$+ donor
SVU
2FA

 

I'm in full support if it's a 300-500$+ perk

 

I don't get why people ITT are suggesting that SVU should be necessary to have a name change. Since when did SVU mean anything?

I support this like everyone's saying should only be name changed once
But when you hover over someone's name you can see there recent names
And it should be a 200$ donor that has donated for 30 days

I cba with everyone changing their names. So many people would/will qualify for a name change if this was approved.

 

I fully support this, would also like it to have a formerly know as somewhere in the signature or somewhere else where people could see who they were previously for at least 6 months (and let staff see who they were previously forever).

 

Support, make it a $500+ donor perk and other requirements.

 

SVU is hardly a barrier to people changing their name regardless of it being on its own or bundled together with other things. In terms of safety in people changing their names and deception etc SVU doesn't keep anyone honest either.

I'll admit I'm a detractor of SVU though (Have even asked to have it removed but was told by Matthew after pestering that it wasn't possible (which we both know isn't true so fuck you Matthew).

 

I support having names changed. I would love to change mine ;\ Anywho I would definitely suggest having somewhere listed publicly the previous name.

This way, Past Vouches will still apply to him. Also, make it so that so names can be impostered, the original name must completely be disabled/locked.

 

Capitalisations and removal of numbers where the unnumbered version is available - agree they should be allowed. Other changes I'll be dead against indefinitely.

People just assume and want changes cause you can get them on other forums and be as pedantic as you like on a daily basis. The reason Sythe is one of the biggest forums of it's kind is because it isn't a carbon copy of or based on other forums' rules and ways of doing things.

Fuck no to the confusion of every even 200+ donor changing names. It makes it so much easier to cause confusion regarding past accounts and even scams.

 

i mostly agree with roary on this one. capitalizations should be no big deal. numbers i'm not too sure about... users like shine20078 becoming "Shine" seems a little much, but i doubt we'd notice too much after the changes were made.

 

I agree with this. Especially since i want my name capitalized and the numbers removed >_<

The mods/admins would be bombarded with requests anyway.

 

I hate that staff are handed name changes so freely now. It's far too confusing already.

 

Well, Shine isn't available but yeah that's the idea. People dont refer to people as name63728 they just say the name part usually.

Shin & Lean are the only 2 since.. James?

 

One name change per account and you have to donate a certain amount over at least $200 and it's a definite support from me.
