Impossible to get a job?

you arent doing anything wrong, its just about being lucky, what you could do is, do a follow up call, ask if they looked at the resume and if they have any more spots open, make it seem like youre interested and be persistent, persistency is key, but not too persistent, atleast give it a week before calling, its just about going at the right time, it takes a while before you can find a job sometimes

 

might simply be a numbers game. also, as you said, you're young, so not a targeted hiring demographic. i think the best advice here is "be patient"

 

Nothing much you can do. I'm around your age and there was a time when my friend and I tried applying for multiple jobs. While I gave up after few attempts, my friend got a job at his fourth try or so.

Just do your best at being appealing and presentable. At your age, it's all about patience and luck.

 

Have you finished school yet?

Why go into work so early? Why not further education (assuming you're looking for full-time work).

what you're doing wrong is not being prepared. you're showing up begging for a job. how many beggars get gold in rs? none.

you need to understand what the ideal employee looks like and try to embody it. you can learn so much from other peoples mistakes but can never see your own. It's all a social game. try to connect to them on a intellectual level. talk to each person differently.

You need to walk into interview mentally prepared. What I do is go sit at the park by myself before the interview and think about my life. and how important it is that you acquire employment. it will only get worse.

also gonna say try to improve appearance.

accept the possibilities that you have no skills/connections. only then can you improve. gotta have the right mentality. all jobs are slavery. you don't want them. save every dollar you earn from sythe and cling to it for dear life.

money only buys freedom

 

If you have any friends that already work somewhere, it could be worth a try to ask them to recommend you to their place of work.

He doesn't receive a call back for an interview, so he can't do those you listed.

UPDATE: I went into Burger King today to just make sure everything on my application was good. He then asked me to come in for an interview!

 

I can't believe no one mentioned his CV. It may be you aren't getting a call back due to having a weak CV. Go over your CV with someone so it is presentable and neat. The state of your CV single-handly puts you in a better position for a call back. Im not sure if you know but the majority of applicants around that age have terrible CVs with common mistakes. Make sure yours is not one and you'll be sure to get a call back from many of the 30 locations you applied at.

 

Your only 16 many employers arent really looking for someone so young and inexperienced cause it means they have to teach you everything. BUT you will eventually find a job.

Employers want hard working long-term employees.

I recommend that you portray yourself in the following way:

Someone that is self motivated, hard working and punctual who wants to become a long term employee. Even if you aren't self motivated, hardworking, punctual or looking for a long term job, this is what you need to portray.

You need to come off as someone who is ready to WORK not someone that JUST wants a paycheck (EDIT: It may help to somehow let them know you have financial obligations/goals, basically let them know you have a reason to get a job and KEEP a job. If you come off as a young person that is looking to make a quick $400 to buy a PS4, they won't bother hiring you.) At your age I wore a dress shirt and dress pants for a McDonald's interview. Even then, I returned to the restaurant while they weren't too busy to let them know I was looking forward to working with them.

It helps to know a manager or two by name for when you make a return call or visit.

You didn't ask for the following advice but I'll give it anyway:

Spoiler: EXTRA ADVICE

You'll get a job soon because you obviously want it and are putting forth the effort. Once you get a job do not feel you have to stay there a certain amount of time before you move to another. It is much easier to get a job while you already have one, so once you're ready to move on you should start interviewing with other companies on your time off. Employers love to see that you are already working and are looking to progress your career/life.

On the other side of the coin, staying at a job for a long time is also very appealing to employers.

Well, I got a interview in about 2 hours. Nervous as fuck

 

Alright so I went, it was actually really easy. He wrote down my availability, phone number, shirt size, and my experience. He then said that he would check the application online then call me back within a week.

Is this good? ​

 

There's not really much you can do, most places that are hiring would prefer people that have experience over people that don't, so getting your first few jobs won't be that easy unless you personally know someone that works at the place that could hook you up.
