[CDT] Sotm #1 Minirank/funrank Prize [Movies Theme]

First month's theme will be movies

How to enter, and what type of graphics do you accept?

• All entries must be PM'd to the SOTM account.
• There will be a new SOTM every month, with the broad theme being picked by the previous winner.
• SOTM entry process will run from the 1st to the 15th of every month with the voting process starting on the last week of the month.
• All entries must abide by Sythe.org's signature rules (Maximum of 350 pixels in height including all quotes/text/pictures in it and a maximum of 650 pixels in width with all text/quotes/pictures. Additionally, images in your signature may not exceed a file size of 2.5 megabytes.)
• SOTM will encompass anything of artistic nature, good at tags? Great. You a fan of toast art? Awesome. Animated signatures? Cool! Good at ascii drawings? Make a piece upload it and submit it to us!

Rules:

• If you are submitting an IRL piece you must include two copies, one with your Sythe name on a piece of paper, and one without for voting purposes.
• No premades.
• Anyone submitting someone elses work will be banned per the plagiarism rule.
• Troll designs are not permitted.
• You cannot include your name in the artwork (except for irl submissions PM'd to SOTM), or anything that would distinguish you from other artists.

Prizes:

Participation minirank: (Provided to anybody who participates in 3 SOTM's.)
Winner minirank: (Provided to winner of any SOTM.) Also The winner for the month will receive a competition winner rank for the following month and have the chance to sign our wall of fame!
Winner of the year: (Provided to the person who wins the most SOTM's in a one year period starting June 1st/15.)

I love this idea, can't wait to submit some pieces. I do agree with Ghast though, this seems to fit more appropriately as a sticky in the Graphics Gallery section.

As for the section, I don't see why you would move it to Graphics Gallery. You're not exhibiting any artwork.

Ill send my entry in 2 weeks because my exams end on June 12th

 

Wish there wasn't such a small size restriction. In my opinion it really restricts a person's creativity.

 

if we get alot of feedback like this there's no reason we cant open it up. This first sotm just serves as a basic guideline and we appreciate any feedback from the community.

Should decide on the size soon though if its going to change. I feel 2.5mb is enough, max id want is like 5mb if were creating graphics meant for web. Anything larger isnt exactly ideal anyways.

 

Yea but what about dimensions?

 

Well it is signature of the month so I can see why the dimensions would be set as they are, but this is special so perhaps a 100px increase on height and 200px on width?

It might be best to keep it 650x350 so its useable on sythe.

...Perhaps the winner could get permission to increase their sig size for a month or something.

Would be hard to moderate though, simply seeing as ALL moderators would have to know who won last months SOTM, and people would still be reporting their signatures, and new people might think they can have a larger signature because x person has it.

Damn won't be able to enter this one due to exams, definitely finally going to make an appearance on the next one though. I've been meaning to enter these every time they happened and never got round to it, someone hold me to this.
