Question about Paypal Negative Balance.

Let's say I have $0 on my Paypal account and someone buys gold (or something else) off me for $50.
But he manages to succesfully charge back his $50 after i've spent it.
Will I be left with a -$50 paypal balance? And will they send me a letter via post ? Or just an email ?

Yes they will send letters to your house until they get their money back. You probably have 30 days, not sure on that though.

My PP was chargebacked ages ago, and being young i didnt have money to pay it back (Was less than 50bucks).
It got locked, my PP sent me emails to warn me and i never once recieved a letter home.

I live in Europe btw.

 

I know this from experience. If you have a mailing address they WILL send you mail to your house. I probably got mail for a year before it stopped.

 

Yeah they got my mailing adress, but they have no way to verify if it's my real one.

 

Don't screw around with this kind of thing. Paypal isn't like jagex; if you screw them out of money or try to violate their ToS, they WILL persist in trying to get their money back. Avoid the negative balance, otherwise you will get letters sent to your address.

But was just wondering what happens if someone charges back and you don't have enough money on PP balance to cover it.

 

if they send you $50 (when your balance is $0) and then charge back your balance goes back to $0.

Otherwise you would lose $100 which doesnt make sense as they have only charged back $50

I owed them $500 they sent letters for like 2 years. I don't know if they would bother as much for a smaller amount.
