Id say go in a room and leave your computer, phone, whatever that can distract you out of the room. Study an hour-2 hours, Take a 30 min break and come back to do the same thing

Basically what everyone else said, i'd just simply recommend studying without and electronics if possible. Sometimes when I study even with just my computer I get sidetracked. My studying always goes best when its just my books, papers and a pen with me.

Dunno if you know about this: http://www.rainymood.com/

Whatever you're doing to procrastinate, for example Sythe, then use it as a reward. Do 2 hours of studying then check your Skype/PM's/threads then do another 2 hours. Long periods of studying without a break are actually more detrimental than helpful. So break it up. If you do 4 hours a day like this, it's only a third of your day gone, if not less.

If you're struggling and that's making it harder for you, then seek help. It's easier to study something if you understand the fundamentals. For example: if you know your arguments inside out and the examples behind them then it's easier to write an essay.

like others have said, first, leave your comp/electronics

second, get a stopwatch and time your studying. Stop it for everything that is not studying even going to the bathroom or getting water. This will help you stay focused.

third, with that stopwatch, study for 45 min, then take a 15 min break. If that's too easy, study for longer. You have to learn to reward yourself too

Don't study in long periods. Study deligently for one hour and constantly high light key points. It will help! Then take a break for 30mins and then go back for an hour studying.

;D Lets hope so, the grading system is messed up, only a few marks between each grade it's ridiculous. I think it's like 12 marks between an A and an E. :L

Easier said than done. Learning isn't one size fits all. Speaking from experience ...

    I often struggle with revision/studying

I've always struggled with revision, I have a low boredom threshold and suffer from A.D.H.D. However, I've been fortunate enough to be intelligent enough to do well in tests and Exams without the need of revision.

However, this year came the hardest exams I've ever done, therefore I had to revise. Doing so required me to accept the pressure, I work well at night , the night before or times when I have pressure amounting on me. I thrive from pressure. I recommend thinking about how important it is and realizing the importance of it.

I've always found that procrastination is the worst but when you start revising you need to remember to take breaks. I watched a lecturer who stated that our brains can only function adequately or work well for 45 minutes during a revision period. After that, it needs a 5 minute break. It was recommended to take a walk , or go for a drink. The worst thing you can do is use your electronics, watch tv because you get distracted and ultimately waste more time.

I wish anyone luck with revision.
