How much are the shoes 100+ if so i would say if there not all torn up replace it, if all torn up might be better off getting a new pair just because of wear and tear

went with the shock doctors because they were cheaper. they came today and im gonna go try them out. they also fit my shoes nearly perfectly, so i didnt have to cut them down, which is nice. inb4 they destroy my feet lol

played for two hours, they weren't bad, should be totally fine after breaking them in a few more times. no new blisters gained, so that's good

I play badminton and grind my soles to bits but i cant stand using replacement insoles cause I feel as if im just sliding around inside my shoes so it makes me not want to move as fast and i just miss shots. I tend just buy new shoes when my old shoes have complete broken apart.

yeah, i was the same way up till this week :p. but now im a fan of these new shock doctors i'm using (put another two hours in them today and they were MUCH better the second time around - guess they just need breaking in first)

i might also get one of the higher end insoles, maybe something a little bit cushier and less slippery-feeling, just to see how they compare. i figure even $40 is a good deal if it makes my $120 shoes last 2-3 times as long

I guess if your shoes are like 120 dollars your better off buying some pricey insoles. My shoes are only like 10 dollars (still good tho..) so I generally just get new shoes when they are completely broken. In all honestly I dont really think that using the "best gear" makes you the best player cause I only used the cheapest crap and im still one of the best. :) just throwing that out there

@ nod, yeah, i might just get a few insoles and see which i like best over the next 6 months or so

that's true up to a point, and there are definitely decreasing marginal returns to performance when you're spending upwards of like $80 on something racquet-sporty. however, i think it's definitely worth it to buy shoes that aren't going to leave you with blisters galore after a few days of play. at present im playing for like 12 hours a week and would rather not have my feet falling off afterwards :p

but yeah, i might try some of the more expensive insoles in the future. after 6 hours of play with these shock doctors, im pretty happy with them. broken in well, dont even notice that they're not the default insoles except if i think about it. they're a little harder than i'd want but nothing serious at all
