Ok Not a huge big deal - currently working a job I do not like $21hr full time (Australia) as a stock controller / Admin.

Applied for a job at a company which deals with electrical supplies Circuit breakers / cable etc for a assistant manager position (have retail and manager experience) - I have a phone interview which goes awesome - say all the right things and just tell them honestly I am keen to work back in retail.

I get a call - I do not get the job, sadly hired internally however due to this and my awesome phone interview - the branch manager has been given approval to hire me! - firgues have not been written down or singed (will speak with him tomorrow about finer details) has offered me $23.50+ an hour , starting as soon as possible.

Close to an extra $5k a year and chance to work into further roles.


Got to love it - pretty much in the bag, I have dealt with the staff and company for a long time and pretty much what I wanted!

Dude two or three hours of his job at "only $21 an hour" would buy the bulk (if not all) the vouches vouches you have accumulated in your time here.

Don't talk shit when you're unemployed probably living with your mom buying sub 10m increments of RSGP with your allowance.

As tempting as it will be to give everyone the figure at your current workplace if you hate it that much, don't burn the bridges. You'll never know when you'll need the connections and a good reference is never a bad thing.

To be fair Australian wages are generally pretty high due to their minimum wage levels.

 

I currently work as a stock controller - a company which works in civial construction and airconditiong - when our workers need items I get it for them - sign it to them (we deal with equipment worth tens of thousands of dollars - my older brother works for Boeing in same role and signs out items worth hundreds of thousands each), I put invoices through and order items for our staff.

This new job is more of internal sales - which If I succeed will hopefully lead to assistant manager or higher purchasing role (state)

 

Yeah it would be great to do the whole "fuck you!" thing but they gave me employment through a tough time and skills (they have stuffed me around with wages - just finshed a 6 month fight for back payment etc)

Now awaiting a contract - sign that and hand in my 2 weeks notice.
