I don't think so... I was looking through the appeal forum earlier and it looks as though he blackmailed somebody or something? Don't take my word for it.

Oh, and yeah. Read the book of Leviticus. I'm pretty sure chapter 16 has stuff about it? And also, I don't think anybody mentioned this, John (I'm pretty sure) sent a letter to the Romans saying masturbation was not clean.

why do we "preach".

story:
Jimmy = Christians
Tom = non Christians

Tom lives in a house with no windows and only one door.
This door is locked and the only way to open it is with a key.
Jimmy is one of Toms friends, he knows that the key to this door is on Toms kitchen table.
One day Toms village is set on fire and is approaching his house very quickly.
Jimmy was able to escape his house and decides to call Tom using his cellphone.
Jimmy tells Tom that he has to take that key and unlock that door or he will be burned
to death, Tom may agree to... or think Jimmy is just playing a prank
and refuse (countless times).
If you were Jimmy, how hard would you try to get your friend to pick up that key and
unlock the door?

We are Christians, we want you to pick up that key and unlock that door.
We dont want to see anyone get burnt, would you not do the same?

the scriptures say the law was nailed to the cross. Jesus did fulfill the law in that Jesus covers every sin through forgiveness and belief in Him.. not sacrifice which was not sufficient.

My take on the OT laws are this>

Jesus was born under the law and fulfilled the law. The NT says the law was a yoke that no one could bear. And no one was more motivated to obey the law than the Pharisees.

Jesus died to set us free from the law. We live under a new covenant that Jesus' death established, a new and living way. The law was an administration of death that Paul tells was added.

Thus Jesus is the end of the law for righteousness. The new law that we live under is the royal law of love. Love God and love neighbor. Love is the fulfillment of the law.

We aren't in a relationship with God that is based on disobedience or obedience but grace. Be cause of Jesus we are in God's favor. If from our heart we want to be kind to everyone we meet and honor God in everything we do we will be accepted in the beloved by faith.

Remember no one is righteous by works. That includes Christians. One sin made us unrighteous. Paul tells the Galatians that they are foolish for thinking that once they started this walk by faith that they could complete it by works of the law.

Paul even said he was blames when it came to obeying the law. He's not disobeyed one law in his whole live. But that obedience to the law didn't help him know God one bit. So he counted the law as dung (the s word) that he might know Jesus. Phil.3

What does Paul tell us. Things like this that we never hear preached. All things are lawful .. all things are pure ... I'm convinced in the Lord Jesus Christ that nothing is impure in itself ... to the pure all things are pure but to the defiled all things are defiled ... there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus .. Jesus is the end of the law ... love fulfills the law ... 6 times, we aren't under the law but under grace.

Now I read a lot of theologians who make the Bible sound really nice in saying we don't obey the ceremonial or civil laws of Moses but are obligated to obey the moral laws. But the Bible never says the law can be divided up and that we are to accept this law and ignore that law. No, the NT says a few times if we break one law we have broken them all. All law is moral. All law is civil and all law is ceremonial.

That's how I'd deal with the OT laws ... if you want to obey one of those laws you are obligated to obey all of them. But of cause you can't obey the OT laws because you have already broken them. so your only hope is to turn to Jesus, repent and accept his favor. I know that is my only hope.

Here is more of Luke 16... notice the last sentence!

Hi Pyro,

Again Jesus was under the OT law, so He has to speak positively of the law. Paul also speaks positively of the law. The law is holy, righteous, good. At the same time Paul speaks negatively of the law. It can't provide righteousness, It can't provide salvation. While it the law was to lead people to God, it also lead people to obeying the law with no thought of the God who write the law.
Why did the law fail? Not because of a weakness in the law but because of a weakness in us. Each of us are sinners so we like the self-righteousness that comes from obeying the law. But believing in Jesus, why do that? I'm a good person, I've not killed anyone, I've not stolen anything since I was a kid!

Here's a thought the Holy Spirit gave me sometime ago. I’ve been looking for someone else that has developed it but I've not found it.

In the Garden God gave one law. Done eat the fruit of one tree. For thousands of years after that there was no law to transgress, yet people sinned anyways. This is seen in that they all died.

God calls Abraham. Still God doesn't give a single law they are to obey. Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. The descendents of Abraham had an unconditional promise to believe for.

400 years later God frees his people from Egypt but they have no faith and complain and complain. So God says He is going to kill all that generation of unbelief in the wilderness. Paul says of the law, it was add because of transgression. And the law causes more sin. How is God going to be just in killing a whole generation if his people if there is no law for them to transgress?

God has Moses go up into the mount. Again we see the 2 sides of the law. God tells Israel if they obey the law they will live. There is hope and a lot of theologians use these verses to the law was given to bring live to Israel. But its also clear that God wants to kill that generation of unbelief. Since no human can keep the law they all disobeyed and God killed them in their grumbling and disbelief.

Only Joshua and Caleb were able to side step this law that brings death by living in faith. So they entered into the Promised Land.

The law is the same today as its every been. It is good, righteous and holy. But also the law brings death because no one can obey the law. Disobedience brings condemnation, guilt and death. Why would anyone want to try and fail to obey the law of God? Jesus has a better way! Jesus brought a righteousness that comes by faith. Jesus brought forgiveness. He brought life of faith and grace that works thru love. Law doesn’t need love. You can obey the speed limit and have no love for anyone. But works without love profits you nothing. Or me. I choose to accept the grace of God. I choose to accept the favor of God by faith. I choose from the love that God puts in my heart to love my neighbor. In believing in Jesus we know Him and thru Jesus we know the Father as the Holy Spirit work thru and in us.

I think the Pharisees were outwardly showing they were righteous in the law, but they became blinded by the law of their piety and righteousness, to mercy.

I think what Jesus is saying in Luke 16 regarding "it is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law"... is that the Pharisees were holding on so tightly to the law that heaven and earth would or could pass away before they, the Pharisees, would ever let go of the law even though the Messiah was right there with them, and then Jesus starts to recite the law because, of course, Jesus knew the law perfectly... he wrote it! lol However, we are now out of that bondage and under the mercy and pardon of Jesus Christ... as love IS the fulfillment of the law.

This doesn't mean we have full freedom to sin of course; however, we are all still sinners just doing the best we can. I believe Jesus will forgive our sins past, present and future, as long as we do the will of The Father, as Abraham and others did the will of The Father.. as well as believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and confess that in public of course..

Go back and read the beginning of Mark 7 again where it's talking a lot about the law and clean and unclean, etc..

if you take "unclean" to mean a sin, then sex would be a sin to... and we know its not within marriage. So unclean does not mean sin? (just dirty....)

Also remember Leviticus is all the old laws...so do we follow all, some, or none? thats what it breaks down to.

My Bible starts Leviticus like this:
many of the guidelines seem irrelevant to us today. but behind all the details are themes that help us understand what it means to follow God today. God wants a relationship with us, but we must first admit our sins and accept Gods forgiveness. And God expects believers to lie their lives in ways that are pleasing to him. As Leviticus 19:2 says: "I am the Lord your God. You must be holy because i am holy."
