How do youtube users have their Channel URL?

like some have youtube.com/user/xxxx for theirs, how can i get one of those? this is kinda confusing me, not used to all googles bullcrap. thanks in advance

Google changed how it works. You used to be able to make a YouTube account and from there just go into the settings and create a custom URL. But now you need requirements.

I think it's something like 500 subcribers to be able to change your URL from "adfke943453" to "MrCrabMan".

 

well i asked because my friend has like 7 subscribers and he was able to change his somehow xD

 

They updated it now so you can choose your own URL (as long as it's not taken already) once you reach 500 subscribers
