Is there a reason we don't have one? There's one for LoL, and WoW is a bigger section that's equally active.

We used to have one back when I was the WoW mod. I enjoyed it, but I don't think there was enough people here that played, or at least cared enough to discuss it here to warrant a section. That's why it was killed off along with most other specialized sections and thrown into the "Gaming" section which is a clusterfuck of people trying to talk about a ton of different games, genres and it looks like a mess tbh.

I don't think lumping it with every other game and calling it a day is a good solution, but I'm not too sure how else it could be taken care of. I know at least at the beginning of WoD WoW was at a record high for subscribers since WoTLK. If we could captivate those users somehow into coming to Sythe for our markets we can get them to liven up the forums and that section. Like you said, the game is fairly active, but it isn't bigger than LoL. Despite this, I think there is quite a bit more to talk about in WoW than there is in LoL or CS, but I know the sections cater to the users here on Sythe.

I think the bigger question is what can we do to turn our focus on games that are growing / don't have real blackmarket homes and try to gain users that don't only play Runescape, but I don't see that happening until RS truly dies down. I've been trying for years to try and generate some activity in tf2, CS, WoW etc. even though I'm not very active in any of those games but nothing has really taken off.

It's just that there isn't much of a WoW community on Sythe

I think we need a CounterStrike:GO Discussion forum, and possibly could give WoW another try.

Support, even if its a long shot, there needs to be an attempt to build a community around one of the biggest games out there.

We can give it a shot, no point in not trying, however I wouldn't see it turning out well. A lot of people play WoW still, however there are many other games that might just be as popular as WoW is at this point. LoL and CSgo are just on a different level of popularity atm from what I see, compared to WoW.

The gaming section is dead and will continue to be dead without radical changes. We have gone through a ridiculous number of iterations of different gaming sections and none have done anything to improve activity in the section. WoW used to have an entire section of its own like Runescape does. Then it got reduced to a single section. Then it got removed and an MMO section was added. Then we got rid of genres completely and reduced down to just gaming general. Despite all of this people still don't post in there even if they want to post about games! They post in General Discussion! I've reported about 90 fucking trillion threads that were ABSOLUTELY GREAT threads about gaming that were posted in General Discussion! The gaming section IS LITERALLY 50 FUCKING PIXELS ABOVE IT YOU DIPSHIT!

    Let's go even further:

    http://www.sythe.org/general-discussion/1824899-apple-watch.html
    http://www.sythe.org/general-discussion/1825200-internet-connection-problem-question.html

    http://www.sythe.org/general-discussion/1826315-how-build-gaming-pc.html
    http://www.sythe.org/general-discussion/1825159-anyone-good-editing-videos.html

All of those threads are on the front page of General Discussion when they all could EASILY fit into the Technology section. Like talking about Apple products was literally one of the things that was explicitly mentioned when it got made!

Oh look I even missed one!

    http://www.sythe.org/general-discussion/1825195-what-do-you-guys-think-iphone-6-a.html

The same thing has happened to the Gaming section for years and it continues to happen. Adding sections for topics does not magically create activity in those sections! There needs to be HIGH QUALITY CONTENT. It needs to be EASILY ACCESSIBLE and USABLE. There needs be ACTIVITY WHICH WILL FOSTER MORE ACTIVITY.

We all love changing how the forum is structured and we have done it a lot in the past. I've suggested changing the Other Games section at least four times and multiple of those changes have been accepted but none have actually worked. I would love to see a very active WoW section but just adding one is not going to get us there.

If this is indeed true, I don't think there is enough activity to warrant a WoW discussion section.
