Email from Jagex

They're suspecting you of selling the account and recovering it back afterwards. Due to multiple recoveries and ip logs.

 

I remember that account. Did anything happen to it? Or are the vast majority of people maxed now so that there's not many people who use it anymore? I've been out of the loop for a while.

Quite a lot of people in the BA community do the same on 07 as a majority of the community don't have maxed melee stats and even fewer have high ranged for using chinchompas for speed runs. If it's getting enforced then I think a lot of people are going to get screwed.

 

Just make sure the email is legitimate, but I think I've heard about it's contents before so it may be real. I think it just means re-selling the account is no longer an option eh ;D

 

It is real, I got this email aswell when I recovered my account from a hack, after submitting a ticket to Jagex Support a week ago.
I suspect that they only say this to scare the account resellers away, since it was the first time I actually lost control over my account.
Pretty smart of them lol.

 

Thats what you get for scamming accounts! I have reported that account several times from different ip,and accounts! Enjoy mate! im going to keep doing that , untill it gets banned.

you get this email when you sell/recover your account, a buddy of mine recieved an email like that and he was constantly ripping people off

 

a little tip to distinguish any physh from legitimate email


Runescape, paypal, ebay any reputable website doesn't say 'DEAR PLAYER, or 'to whom it may concern' any that bullshit.


they always send you an email in reference to your user name.

 

LOL we recommend you delete messages to and from Jagex. That is too funny. I have had plenty of these before, usually they ask you to log in to verify your account info or check on the offence etc. Nothing but a petty Phish attempt

 

So basically after a certain amounts of times recovering your runescape account , this is the last warning you get, so there is no possible way now to recover the account

 

Account sharing isnt allowed

 

a simple rule is that if it's a legit mail from jagex, they would address ur character name directly instead of 'Dear Player' etc

Probably becos jagex got bored of handling account recovery requests of scammers (who sold their acct), so they are trying to reduce their workload through these warnings

 

just message jagex via twitter to see if it's real, i remember before phishing emails looked like they were sent right from jagex emails

 

Its real, i recovered account back from 3 years ago. Its rs3 account and since i have no intrests and they accepted my appeal, they told its against the rules to sell/trade accounts.
But i got my account back with that e-mail that they sayd they will set this same email to the account and this is warning.

Recieved the same. Was told since i buy and sell accounts and i was warned so they cant help me.

 

Just read the part where meteor said the link were legit, assumed it was a phishing link.
