[The Next Chapter] [By Hand] Old School Runescape Main [Slayer][Max Out?]

Hey all, time for yet another Duke goal/progress thread. **1/24/2017 Updates In OP**



I've decided that I'm going to keep my 99 Runecrafting account at its level of 80 and keep it's Runecrafting Cape Untrimmed for life. Now, because Jagex DOES allow trading wealth between accounts as long as it is legitimately earned, I may be using a small amount of my Double Nat money to help fund this accounts goals. I don't see as this being abusive to the game, as people have been doing it since before Jagex restructured and clarified the rules to allow this. However, I have not decided for sure if I'm going to do this, I might not. As of right now I transferred just a mil gp over for the minimal essentials - noob gear, food, teleport tablets, etc. This is hardly circumventing much grind. I see it as no different of giving a noob account a bond, which is actually more expensive, but whatever. The one thing I guarantee is that this account will NOT be real world traded on.



Before I get into detail about my goals for this account, let me link you to my previous Sythe goal threads and I'll let you know how they worked out:

[RS3] [Completed]1 Million Nature Runes + 99 Slayer [No RWT] [Completed] - This was the first progress thread I made on Sythe. Here you can find my back-story, detailing my Runescape history in full. I completed every single aspect of this goal. 100 percent completion.

[COMPLETED][By Hand] [RS 07] Untrimmed Runecrafting Cape [He did it again!] [99/99] - By far my most ambitious goal on Sythe. I finally completed the highly respected and elusive Untrimmed Runecrafting Cape. I am currently ranked in the top 300 crafters and plan to crack the top 100. It netted me over 600m gp in profit. This goal is 100 percent completed.

[RS 3] Duke's New Account Log [By Hand] [Rags to Riches] - This goal was one of two goals that I didn't complete. It got quite boring, I reached the GP goal on it of 100m+, but did not do much else on it. Runescape 3 is nowhere near as good as Old School.

[By Hand] [RS 07] Duke's Slayer Log [54/85] - This goal was transferred over to this account and completed. I am now 99 slayer.

So that leads us to this thread. What do I plan to do? Well, I mulled over making a main or a Rune/Zerker pure, and I opted for a main account. I don't want any constraints on this account or handicaps. I'm not a big fan of PVP in general and I've heard the 07 PVP community is quite toxic. I easily believe this because they're toxic towards Runecrafters especially, and also from what I've just heard in general. I don't wish to partake in that portion of the game. That ship has long since sailed for me.

So, after getting 99 Runecrafting, I have already achieved arguably the most desired and respected 99. What am I going for on this account?

Well, I will certainly max out Attack, Strength, Defense, Magic, Ranged, Prayer, and Slayer. Slayer is one of the most respected capes in the game as well, and I want to see if I can achieve this one, as I did not get 99 slayer in Rs 3 til 2014, and it felt cheapened by MTX and overpowered XP.

Lets make a quick run-down of every single skill in OSRS and what I think I can realistically get:

Combat Skills (Attack/Strength/Defense/HP/Ranged/Magic/Slayer/Prayer): These skills comprise of 8 out of the 23 skills in Old School Runescape. I firmly believe with my knowledge, know-how, and dedication towards the game, that I can max out each and every one of these stats. Ranged, Magic, and Prayer may be costly, but they're easy as hell to get 99 in. Well, not easy persay, but relatively quick and painless. I've considered knocking out 99 prayer in one swift XP grind, but I have not decided on this for certain yet. Update: I am now 99 Attack, Strength, Defense, HP, and Slayer. The only 3 stats left of these 8 are Ranged (93) Magic (55) and Prayer (Soon to be 70)

9. Runecrafting - Would/Could I do 99 again? Lmao, I'm not sure. I know that I could easily get 70+ again though, so I'll list 70 as my goal for that. If I don't opt to transfer gold between my accounts to level, I will be using Runecrafting for all of my GP needs. This kills more than two birds with one stone- I don't pay attention to RC xp this way and make GP for all of the costly skills in the game. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

10. Construction - Construction is piss easy, just takes GP. I could easily max this out at 99. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

11. Agility - Part of the "Big Three" - Another top tier, respected cape, and the only one out of the three (RC, Slayer, Agility) that I legitimately do not think I could earn. However, I did enjoy Rooftop Agility, so maybe I could get 99 someday. But I'm not going that crazy, I'm going to put its goal mark at 70. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

12. Herblore- Piss easy - just expensive. Could easily get 99. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

13. Thieving - Have always hated this skill. Setting this goal at 70 as well. I'm not sure how people are so cool and calm in getting this to 99. This skill lame as fk. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

14. Crafting - Easy, just expensive. I'll put this in the 80 range. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

15. Fletching - Lol. Easy 99. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

16. Hunter- I literally, for the life of me, can NOT remember the last time I trained this skill. It literally had to have been almost a decade ago. I'm not exaggerating. Put Hunter @ 70. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

17. Mining- I don't mind mining, I grinded all the way to 85 one time just using the mining guild. If I employ smarter and more efficient methods, we can put Mining @ 70. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

18. Smithing - Easy, just expensive. I'll match Mining and many other skills at 70. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

19. Fishing- A chill, afk skill that I have always enjoyed but never actually maxed out in. I'm already 53 on the account from having done it earlier this year. I'll put fishing at 80. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

20. Cooking- Completed - 99/99

21. Firemaking - A bit more tricky, tedious, and cumbersome in 07 than in RS3. I'll put firemaking at 80, I did not really enjoy it in Old School/ I still won't I'm sure. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

22. Woodcutting - Chill as hell skill like fishing. 80+. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

23. Farming- Hate it. One of the worst skills to ever come to Runescape. I'll put it at 70 put I don't see myself getting it that far. Update: I am currently getting this to level 70.

So - Attainable 99's - Quite a lot in my opinion. I base this estimation on my knowledge of the game, efficiency methods, motivation, and the fact I only play OSRS and no other video games.

However- You can consider this a Slayer thread as it stands. Combat is the flavor of the coming months. While I will undoubtedly sprinkle in some random skilling, SLAYER will be the first 99 I set my sights on (obviously getting other combat 99's along the way).


Other Goals on the Account-

Quest Cape - Have never gotten it in any version of the game, want it. Status: Unattained. Not Currently Working on this.

Fire Cape- Have never done Jad in OSRS, did it in RS 3 1 time/ succeeded. Status: Attained.

Goals On Runecrafter Account-

Top 100 Runecrafter in Hiscores- About 18m XP at the moment.

Status: Unattained Rank & Unattained Pet



Timetable- None at all. I play to enjoy the game, not to endlessly grind. This is definitely my last set of goals I will ever have in this game. I have little desire to return to Runescape 3 at the moment. I play about 4-6 hours a day, sometimes more, sometimes way less. The hardest goal in this thread, in my opinion, is 99 Slayer.

Definitely man, I'm actually not even sure I can get 99 Slayer. Any other combat stat I believe I can get. I'd say I definitely can at least get 85.

Aye, thanks. While the volume of the goals are expansive, I only really think Slayer is challenging. Most of the 99's are not hard, even in Old School.

Very ambitious goals but I don't doubt that you will be able to reach them - good luck!

 

99's in combat are easy minus Slayer. Probably the only one I could fall short on.

Yeah, in Nightmare Zone.

Don't think I'm going to go that direction though, if I train combat strictly through Slayer, by the time I max out those skills I figure to be a very high Slayer level.

Should make a decent amount of GP too.

I see Slayer taking as long as RC though tbh, skill takes forever from what I remember. I'll have to look up some guides on boosting efficiency.

 

Most people on Sythe pay for questing/skilling/accounts/gold and then there's you :laugh: , very impressive achievements and gl on future goals!

 

Thanks man yeah, I want every achievement to be my own, regardless of time or the chance @ failure.

I set ambitious goals to always have something to do in the game.

I'm really excited about that part - being able to do any piece of content in terms of combat is very alluring to me. Especially when new monsters end up coming out and you have the chance for easy GP.

Yeah I'll cannon to maximize efficiency. Seems silly not to.

 

I've never had higher then 60RC. I thought it was too boring to do.
