[rule clarification]Posting personal info of a scammer

Does this apply to reporting scammers?
In a scam report u would include their (private) skype and paypal account (email&full name), so are we allow to post all information related to the scammer (including their ID (driver license/SSN card etc), rl photos/facebook)?

This would discourage ppl from scamming knowing that their irl info will be published (assuming the info are authentic), and also warn other users in case they created a new sythe account or try to scam on other forums).

Also i dont see a reason why we should protect the privacy of the scammers.

I'm fairly certain it's been mentioned that if a full scam report has been filled out and completed it can contain personal information of the scammer.

 

Unofficially (because I've only been a mod for a week), I would say that it's probably okay to post all relevant information in the scam report. If the report contains extremely personal info (SSN, address, etc.) you might want to pm it to a mod instead of posting it publicly. You can always pm reports, by the way. And, of course, use your best judgement. If you think you're crossing a line, just ask someone on a case-by-case basis... these kinds of reports are not that common.

Personally I'd only post public information, and message a mod to post sensitive stuff in a hidden post.

 

What about posting extremely personal info (ssn/id) of banned scammers in other forums (spam forum etc) to share among other sellers (to reduce chargeback etc)?
Would like an official response...

If it's to expose a scammer/aid in your report you won't be punished.

 

What about posting it in other sections after the scammer's be banned?
eg. collate a list of banned scammers with their personal info like real name, skype name, IP, facebook, paypal address etc, so if they ever try to scam again with the same skype/ip/paypal/anything requiring real name in other forums/websites, they can be looked up hence potentially preventing a scam?

Basically, are we allow to publicize any info related to a banned scammer? If not allowed, any reason why we should protect their privacy?

 

If you're collating an index I dont see why not, as long as you're not going out of your way to dox people after a scam etc
