    Are Business TOS Useless?

Question, Are the TOS that are listed on business listings/threads useless?

Are they enforced by Sythe staff?

If i put some ridiculous TOS and someone agree's to it, is it binding?

It's a case by case thing. If a Sythe rule trumps a TOS, then I guess it's rendered useless.

In cases where you're seeking reimbursement, for example, it can be to your advantage. If you were promised X, Y and Z but the user fell short of the Z condition; you'd be entitled to amendments, re-completion of service or a refund (whether full or partial) to have your product completed to X, Y and Z standard that was promised.

TOS' clauses like "pay for firecape, if I fail the cape, you don't get refunded" etc would all be trumped by Sythe rules in most cases. I would personally handle it that way, anyway. It's very much case-by-case and unless there is an outlined situation then it's hard to say what the outcome would be.

As roary said as long as they are legal and within sythes rules and common sense kind of thing it should be fine

But they're dealt with on a case to case basis

It depends on what you put in your TOS. If you stick to simple, easy to agree with terms that don't conflict with any Sythe rules you should be okay. Anything you write in your TOS which tries to shift responsibility from you when Sythe rules state that you are responsible will just be ignored.

An example of something fair would be "No refunds after delivery/starting of your order". If someone reported you for not refunding half way through you could just point out that they agreed to that as it was in your TOS and you should be okay so long as you finish what you originally agreed on or came to a later agreement about what you will finish.

If you're talking about Business-Worker TOS then there's a lot more to it. I'd recommend messaging a staff member for more information on what you are/aren't each responsible for in that situation and then write your TOS around any areas that Sythe don't cover such as what happens to worker deposits and grounds for dismissing workers etc.

If you put the time into it to make sure it's valid then it's worth making. If you half-ass it, you may as well have not written it at all.

I don't think they're useless. A common one I've seen when browsing the skill training section is the "You cannot log in your account while I am doing the service". I think that TOS just makes the job easier for the user offering the services as he doesn't have to conflict with certain actions the buyer may do, which can potentially increase the time it takes to complete the service and hinder profit.
