Trading with Paypal and (O)MM

Hey guys,
I usually do not accept paypal from new & unvouched users, just because I hate the feeling that I could get chargebacked anytime.

So I was wondering if I trade with an (O)MM via Paypal, what happens if the other person chargebacks? Wouldn't the MM have to take responsibility for that?

Really have not much experience with this, let me know!

MM's take no responsibility for chargebacks. It says that in their ToS.

 

When I MM I will never hold paypal $. It always gets sent directly from the buyer to the seller, so the seller is always at risk.

 

It's irrelevant of their ToS.

Using an MM for account trades/Paypal trades is simply to ensure the trade goes smoothly. Anything after the trade is not the fault of the MM/OMM.

I.e, chargebacks/account recoveries by the seller.

 

You should never accept paypal from anyone that you don't trust. Even if you have the slightest feeling that they may charge back somewhere down the road then it is probably not a good idea to accept it.

A Middleman never receives the paypal in a transaction, they simply hold the goods while the payment is sent. Using a middleman does not ensure that you won't be charged back, but some middlemen will help you and educate you as to how you can be safer with paypal.

I rarely use PayPal for trades over $20 unless its via PlayerAuctions. It's just never worth the risk from my years of trading here.

 

If you can't trust the buyer (you have to use OMM), then why would you accept PayPal as a form of payment? The payment is only as secure as the sender, the OMM's rep has nothing to do with this trade. So my word of advice, don't accept Paypal unless you can trust the customer with the trade.

 

The OMM or MM only makes sure you get the item or money initially. There's no way for them to control whether or not the buyer will chargeback down the line. this is why you always need to trust the buyer unless you're dealing with methods that cannot be charged back as easily as Paypal.

 

No MM/OMM will take the paypal through them to get it to you. If you don't feel comfortable accepting PayPal from a user, you shouldn't trade them with or without a MM
