Which would you rather know? Would you rather know a little about many things, or a lot about a few things?

    Tell us why.

A lot about a little, or a little about a lot

A lot about few things so I can just talk to other nerds that know the same things as I do.

A little about a lot. I think it's the better decision for general purposes. Then again, it probably depends on the many things I know little about.

A little about a lot of things I don't care about, and a lot about the few I do.

A lot about a little is preferable to me. It infuriates me when I feel my knowledge is inadequate on any subject so I feel like the other option would be quite aggravating.

Jack of all trades, master of none :p suits me. I like learning. No variation would be a pretty boring life.

I tend to go through learning streaks, not sure why..

I voted for a little about a lot. However, both have their fare share of advantages.

A lot about a little. Its a lot better to be an expert in a field than to have a lot of general knowledge imo.

A little about a lot, simply because I like talking to other people, and I'm really interested in loads of different fields. A lot about a little wouldn't be so bad either if you'd know a lot about a specific field which you enjoy and can make a living with for the rest of your life.

I guess it really depends on what I learn about. Depending the topics, my preference would differ. I guess in general, a little about a lot. With more diverse knowledge, you can master more.

A little about alot. If you think about it this is the essence of success in life. It's useless to know a little about alot except to have interesting conversations. In your professional life, it's all about being an expert at what you do

I rather know a little about a lot as the chances of you encountering the "a lot" is a lot higher than the little so the knowledge will come in use a lot more. Obviously, you can't sit there knowing limited information about everything; knowledge will expand, there has to be topics in which you know a lot of. If I were to choose from the two, I'd go for "little of a lot".

A lot about a little, when I do engage in intellectual conversations, I like to have substantial factual evidence behind my answers etc. Rather than trying to converse about something I do not know a lot about.

Right now however - I feel that I know a little about a lot, should narrow it down soon as I get older :D

I'd prefer to branch out in to as many subjects as I can (I'm pretty much a polymath) but if I had to choose, I'd say a lot about a little. I'm going in to a research career, so I kind of need to specialise.

A lot about a little for me, cause then you could really specialize on something. Its kind of like going to college, you take the general subjects, then you really specialize on what you want.

Let me restate that. I would choose a lot about a little, considering I get to choose what subjects/topics I know a lot about.
