Charge backing

Hello guys,
I need some help with something that recently happened.

I've been playing this guys Runescape private servers for around 4-5 months now and I've found that every 3-4 weeks he shuts down the servers and starts new servers up. He tends to get around 50 players each launch. I think hes actually in it to scam players for donations.

I've recently been helping him out with lending him money because his paypal is limited. I trusted him up until 3 days ago. I've lended him over $100 and he's refunded it every time (1 hour after) until 3 days ago. I lent him $50 and he never refunded it. HE told me he did but never actually appeared on my email or paypal. He's been on skype everyday so far but doesn't respond to me. I think hes scamming people even with his servers.

I'm going to try using the dispuit system on paypal but i'm not sure what to write? Can someone please help me out!!!! I will reward you if it works out well.

It's called charging back. Not charge backing

If he scammed you, just make a dispute. Not that hard. You really don't need much for Virtual trades.

 

You probably won't win it from your perspective... Why would he scam $50 when he knows he can get at least $100 from you?

The owner is doing this for pure profit anyways, why play the server if you know hes gonna continue to do this. Just charge back and say you didn't receive your online goods.

 

You trusted someone with money what did you expect to happen. Don't trust anyone learn that now before you lose anything else.

 

so basically you gave this scammer money so he can scam? I don't fully understand... you're scamming money from people by lending the guy money to start up a RSPS so he can scam the donations... What I am thinking is that you obviously helped this dude to scam... AND he was your partner and he scammed you... scammers should never trust other scammers...

 

Just dispute it and explain exactly what happened, should be solved without a problem.

 

Submit a dispute with PayPal, you might even win it. Don't fool around with dodgy people like him any more. It's not worth it.

 

Not going to give details on how to chargeback effectively for obvious reasons. Chances are you will win the case unless he knows how to work the PP system, which I strongly doubt.

File a dispute asap.

 

Calling Paypal works much better than trying to email them or whatever, trust me - I sell/buy quite a few things on eBay and sometimes have bullshit sent to my house

File a dispute claim, provide all evidence you have possible in picture format, and raise to higher claim when they allow you to.

Calling might help, but it also might not.

 

OP you really shouldn't be trusting scammers with money...thats just looking to get scammed lol.

Hey dude, could I borrow $50? But seriously, create a dispute unless you sent it as a gift it'll be harder. You will be able to write out your story then give this other guy a chance torespond and you can go bavk and forth like that until you escelate the claim so paypal reviews everything and makes the final decision. You can also call paypal customer service and they will direct you accordingly this can go faster just make sure you get your story straight. In my experiences buying and selling virtual goods is a hit or miss kind of game when it comes to charge backs. Since you can't actually prove you never got it without a tracking numbers it's it's a he said she said story especially when you never expected anything from him in the first place.

Also who borrows money for an hour? If I needed some cash it would be till my next pay day. Kind of like the runescape money doubler people. They might double it once to make you give them all your cash, but if you have common sense it won't matter how much they say they can do it. Knowing who Tom trust is a huge part of the internet.

^OP you can always try something. i have lost a few paypal cases to "i didnt scam anything" comments.. so you might aswell try your luck
This might get your paypal limited though, atleast if you lose. But you get it opened as soon as you give enough information about yourself. ID,Address,bank card etc..
