Be courteous to the victims

For the third time, this same case is having to be responded to by me to alert staff that the offender has not made any attempt to make amends with victims. Each time the case is posted, there has been no effort made to check to see if the offender has made ANY attempt whatsoever to reconcile with the victims prior to either outright unbanning the user for offences that must be pardoned for, or voting on the pardon prematurely.

There is an 11 page document outlining the damages that this user caused to a half dozen competitors, as well as his business partner when his business partner left to compete against him - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eTl2CqLkJzugwSelEmYOQC_Xb2A1Qmg7JecQ5a8cewk/edit?pli=1 - yet, the offender hasn't posted a single shred of evidence that he has even attempted to contact any of them.

As long as you keep giving users the privilege of pardoning without paying victims back, they will not pay them back. The staff says that he must repay victims, he does not, and simply posts again.

The staff has said the same thing you said by mentioning that they have not helped the victims and have all denied the pardon.

 

lol what the fuck. Reading that document, this guy will NEVER get unbanned. His offences are on the same tier as other big scammers on here who have cashed out thousands of pounds in scamming. He's ruined people's businesses and attacked their property (DDoSing). I'm sorry for the victims but this is the cold hard truth. You're better off just deleting his account as he's just a waste of fucking server space.

@Xier0, to their defense, this whole case is one huge clusterfuck of whogivesashit. Them overlooking the repayments was a mistake, but I don't blame them. There is too much to this story, and when it seems like you finally understand the gist of it, there is more.

 

My opinion on this case without going into too much detail is that if the damages are in excess of 10,000$ as claimed by certain parties the court system needs to be involved.

pretty sure that no one is going to vote yes dude. This pardon is not for the scamming just for the blackhat. If it was that high of an amount then get the law involved. Seems pretty evident there is no thought of repayment. I don't know the whole story and im sure not everyone (besides you and mods) even know the whole story. Seems hopeless to keep at it.

If the staff never enforces its decision to require repayment to victims before pardoning, inevitably, users will be unbanned without victims being repaid, as it already happened.

Yes, he was to arrange a deal to repay me and his other victims off site, per the quotes in the OP. Does it look like he made any effort to contact a single one of his many victims off-site? Clearly not. So why is his pardon being voted on?

From what i can tell looking at that post is that he is currently banned for blackhat. The majority voted and you guys needed to settle your differences off-site? and the pardon he is posting is for blackhat. not whatever he owed people? could be wrong but that is the just of what i can get from roary's post.

EDIT: all those quotes you linked were before Roary's post stating to settle the squabbles off-site. Im not getting in a pissing match with you. just offering an unbiased set of thoughts.

 

Does it look like his differences were settled? Has he posted proof that he made amends with the half dozen people he damaged? No. In fact, he didn't contact any of them at all to even try to resolve those differences. Thus, the pardon cannot be supported/not supported until he has followed the instructions he has been told over and over and over to repay his victims.

The only reason the dispute is still being discussed on-site is because the offender hasn't made any effort to repay off-site. If staff would simply enforce their ruling and stop voting on his pardons before he has paid back victims, this wouldn't have to keep being brought up.

 

Based on Roary's post, it seems like staff wants all debts to be settled offsite, and BBB is simply banned on Sythe for blackhat?

Not sure why this is the case, but in that situation I can see why he is being allowed to pardon. Although based on the votes it doesnt seem he will be pardoned anytime soon, I agree that pardoning shouldn't even be an option for him until the debts are paid.

 

Correct, which is the case of all users who are banned for arbitrary acts of force against other users - they are expected to settle their debts before pardoning.

Compensation or Auto-Deny. Really that simple. Joopii did what he did because he felt Zinc wasn't going to pay and getting a lawyer involved with a nasty thing like online gambling would've put Joopii's freedom as a human at risk. Just tell him to sort things with an admin for compensation otherwise veto any pardons or just prevent them. I know several ranks Zinc scammed as I was a big bettor in BBB. Theres much more behind the scenes that Zinc refuses to face or admit to. When pardoning you're supposed it show remorse and admit to any other offences, which he failed to do.
