Helping the Staff

Before anyone says anything, yes I've read the rule "Staff powers for non-staff members". This suggestion does not result of the non-staff members any access of power that the Sythe moderators have now. This thread is to simply help the others that have been scammed post a proper scam report because apparently 9/10 people don't read the stickies.

I've been looking at the RAS lately and have noticed that when people post these reports they're either doing:

1) Copy and pasting Skype chat logs.
2) Not providing pictures that have evidence.
3) Have been scammed by an imposter.
4) Invalid proof due to not reading the stickies.

Now for my suggestion is to allow certain people on Sythe (donators of an amount / other level of acceptance) to post on their report that they need to have the items that they're missing. I personally feel like it would weed out a lot of the scam reports that are posted on Sythe.

- This is just the way I see it, if a mod could actually comment on this and tell me their opinion on handling scam reports that'd be great.

 

I like the idea, and I have one to add on to it too. When pressing create a new thread in RAS you be prompted with a message asking if you read the stickies, or some sort of message saying you need to read the stickies before posting as so many people ignore them. So I guess I support

But i dont want 200 ppl lmao commenting on each scam report thats jist dumb, confusing, and unprofessional

 

Support, but the issue gets merky when some donators have power and others do not and giving all or select ones to respond.

I don't think the mods are ready for the push, given that it isnt too much to handle honestly.

 

I agree about 200 people commenting on each scam report, that's why it would be a certain donation amount ($200-$300+) so that there are no trolls, and the people commenting would know what they're talking about (hopefully).

The idea is to only help the mods, these people will not be commenting more than what they need, and a direct link to one of the stickies provided. Anything other than that such as "Banned" or something that is not helping the cause or just being a blatant troll would be punished.

 

Make the reqs to post high so there's not that many people that can.

As far as I'm aware official middlemen can post in that section but keep it how it is.

Depends who exactly is gonna have access to it. All the ex-staff maybe? As anyone else, I'd say active market users.

Yeah they can but it's more so a "only if you're involved" kind of thing which rarely ever is applicable

 

I don't think this is a necessary change since reports without full proof tend to get replies pretty quickly after being posted. It would also require at a minimum creating a new usergroup and determining which users would belong to this group. It's not worth the effort in my opinion.

For the record, OMMs have posting permissions in RaSc so they can reply to reports made involving themselves

Imo not worth the effort.
Scamreports without enough proof are easy to handle, and I don't see a pileup of incomplete reports.
it's often the complete ones that take time to handle

 

You mean so that they can post in reports for trades they were involved in via their OMM role.

It's not the point that doing these reports aren't hard for the mods, it's the fact that it'll save the mods those two minutes and can put the two minutes on a scam report that's detailed.

 

The mods are so active these days and so much gets done compared to in the past, I think this suggestion would only be handy if the staff were low on numbers or there were a mass influx of reports.

 

I don't care what if you have donated a dollar or $3000, I would never want to see this implemented.
