50 is lightly understandable if you're willing to pay like a decent amount, like you have to sacrifice money to get over the initial grind.

90 is fkin insane though.

OSRS has been pulling in almost half the players on the main website counter lately, Jagex has to be partially embarrassed that their core game is getting beaten out by an archaic version with much more modest updates.

 

I almost expect to find it in a textbook someday as a strange example of how an 8 year obsolete product with less resources available can outperform the same product with millions of dollars worth of development and labor hours and 8 years of progress.

This isn't limited to just 07 either -- The most successful "updates" Jagex has released in recent years were all undoings of previous things they added - Free trade return, Legacy, etc.

They just lack direction in the core game. Constant backtracking, empty promises, development timetables never being met.

The whole armour overrides put into Soloman's in their retro forms lol. I wouldn't be surprised if a few yrs down the line the Old Skillcapes are put up there.

As far as it goes for me, I have recently built a new computer so I can finally appreciate Runescape 3 as it's meant to be. After putting the time into the game, it's not too horrible. Though the XP gains are just ridiculously easy. I was actually shocked at how easy it was. For example, WhoNeedsAChaser only need a month or two to far surpass my RS3 total level - and I've had that account since 05 lmao. I've never been much of a skiller, but that's crazy.

I still find myself on OSRS much more than Rs3 though.

The one thing I will give Runescape 3 is Elf City looked pretty great, though I cant get into it (just seen it on Stream).

I also recently started bossing things like Vorago, it's a fun challenge. I never used to boss because I always had so much gp to the point that bossing was pointless.

I wish they would put more development time into quests though.

oh, if any of you are fans of the Runescape facebook page, you can also tell that people are much more receptive to the older styled Runescape. Any memes or jokes that pertain to older Runescape are usually given 4-5000 likes.

Updates about current content or picture of new stuff literally gets like 2-300 likes.


This is arbitrary, but I do put some stock into it.

And it's not always the case, but it usually is. I've been following the page for a few yrs now.

 

Elf city was definitely an exception, it has its problems but for the first time in a long time I was actually excited to explore. I love the max guild and the addition of other high level content.

Lol if they add this I'd only do it for one account (knowing value would be nothing on the resale of account and that JAGEX would charge a shit ton for the boost). But then I'll just feed the gambling addiction of young children at the duel arena with a gambiling clan lol. Make back the money that way and with the gold sales
