3rd monitor?

I'm thinking about getting a 3rd monitor for my current setup after I upgrade my pc.

Having two monitors is amazing to say the least. I'm wondering if anybody currently has 3 monitors and is there any downside to having your 3 monitors?


Desk space will be an issue for me, but do you see yourself sitting further to access all screens? what do you usually have showing on all your screens?

I say do it. I have had three monitors and its great.

Generally on my center screen I have whatever I'm focusing on like a video game or movie. On the right I have stuff like facebook, spotify, youtube. Left is for program applications (temp monitoring, rs, etc).

For desk space I use one desk for my gaming setup, and another for school work with my chromebook.

 

Okay cool, I'm going to hit you up on skype eventually when i got my funds on lock down and get your opinion on a build/upgrade.


I'll notice my need for a third when im questing and watching stream/guides and on social media. or when im mming a trade itd be helpful.

 

I use 3 screens and It's awesome.
Skype and RS (trade accounts) on the right screen.
Livechat and other relevant tabs for work on the middle screen, and a movie or netflix on the left screen

 

I have two screens for my pc, 5k iMac and a macbook pro over an 'L' shape desk setup. However, if I moved my tower to under the desk I'd have room for 1-2 more screens. But children will have it that buttons are fun to press, so it remains on-top.

Are you getting three screens for specific reason or just to go the extra mile in the nerd cave?

 

I use three. They take up a bunch of room and it takes a lot of head turning to see the outer two but its great, especially if you use one for media and the other two for the things you are working on.

 

3 monitors means more stuff u can confuse yourself about, go for it. i have 2. l0l confused af sometimes.

 

Is it out of the question considering to upgrade the monitors you have now to larger ones? I have 2 22" monitors and never have tabs full screen because they're just so big

 

I'm currently running 2 23.5's

I thought about a larger curved one but it would take away from the experience. and seperation feel of having multipule

 

I use 3, and it is amazing.

Left for browser. Middle for whatever I'm focusing on (games, browser if not gaming, etc), and right for Skype, OBS, teamspeak, chatty, and other misc Windows.

 

Curious, do you have to have like 3 mouses if you have 3 monitors?

 

I saw your setup in the thread, looks awesome but id prefer some sort of adjustable stands if i went like that, mainly because of desk space

No your three monitors can act as one monitor and you can just drag your mouse across the screens

 

You can set up monitors to either mirror the main monitor, or to extend the desktop. What this means is, each monitor acts as a section of the workspace and when you move your mouse past the side of one screen, it just goes on to the next. It behaves entirely as one workspace, so you can even have windows halfway between monitors if you want to.

 

When I get a new setup going, I'll definately go for 2 monitors and then add another if I feel like it. I've never had 2, on a single monitor so the experience will be new. I decided to go for a new set up than the one I have now for personal use. The set up now is used by family.
