So decided to sell today 400m 07 gp, and someofwhere i had imposter on my skype, and i though its the real one buyer, we met on rs and I traded him 400m, after 5min i've realised i should check his skype once again and it comes he was blocked me ,and it was imposter lmao. I think he having a good day now meh.. thats my fking story :'( :'( :'(
Sorry for your loss. As much as it sucks to say, the blackmarket for runescape and other games is literally a cesspool. Naturally, a lot of these users make it to Sythe. Invest some time into reading up on safe trading practices to make sure it doesn't happen in the future such as requesting a PM, PM standards... "My skype is ___ I am trading ___ and the trade is ___ some of the chat"
Scammers are everywhere.. they thrive over the internet because it's easier to take peoples hard earned goods.. I've been scammed so many times in my life... even from eBay... I bought a pair of Quicksilver shorts and they were my exact size... I buy them for around 18.99 and then a few weeks.. yes weeks later, I receive a tiny ass pair of Barbie shorts.. I submitted a claim and was refunded... but still.. like wtf?
sorryto hear that mate, Learned your lesson I hope and as for ebay, check their rating? I wouldnt buy anything from some1 with 4 stars or less and needs at lweast 300 reviews.
I'd go ahead and give you what people would usually say, the "Sorry for your loss" kind of statement but.. I really can't believe how careless you were. That was 400M, you should of QUADRUPLE checked man. Is it your first time selling? Even if I were dealing with a trusted seller, no way in HELL would I go put the entire 400M in. Would it really hurt to go in 100M increments? I hope you've learned a lesson from this experience. Must have been a heck of a payday for that imposter.
Why not use a mm (or even omm with fees) for such a big trade? Ask around for a few days, get a feel for it of who you will use as mm, then let them handle it. Even with an imposter, an mm who didn't know, would only proceed forward if you recieved your $ while gp was held.
Definately should of been alot more careful with such a large amount of gp man. And learn to request for PM confirmations no matter who the person is.
