Gambling Section / Poker sub-forum

I've noticed that we have quite a few poker players here.
I think we should have a poker section (or have a Gambling section and have poker as a sub-forum), where we could post pictures with winnings, share videos, talk about poker rooms, free/deposit bonuses etc.
Plus this new section would be really good for Sythe's SEO and would help to attract more new members.

We had people asking about this (example: http://www.sythe.org/help-requests/1593136-about-poker.html ).
I also administrated a Sythe.org Poker Home Group on Pokerstars we also had other Poker related events on Sythe as well (all were very successful).
So I see that there is definitely a need for this.

We had almost 100 members on Pokerstars (signed up within 1-2 months).

I'm myself a moderator of the biggest poker forum in Lithuania, so I would definitely contribute.

I haven't seen maybe even 5 threads about poker posted in the past 6 months. Not sure there would be any activity in that section.

 

Because there is no such section. Look at the previous poker events. Also in the past when I mentioned poker, people always asked me if we can have a game at some point.

Also, if we look at it as an online game, it is a very popular one.

 

Support, if this idea doesn't fall through for poker alone, maybe a more general gambling discussion section.

 

I support the general gambling discussion section because it will have more activity than just poker.

Why not, we could have a Gambling section and have a casino (casinos/websites where you pay to win prizes/money) as one sub-section, poker as another and maybe even more.

 

No support I don't think it would hold much activity.

 

If this were to ever go through it would only be as a broader section like Gambling Discussion as Soul Rich mentioned but even then I'm not convinced it's necessary.

 

You should edit OP and mention the general gambling section. People that does not read posts will say no support for the activity if you dont.

We should have a subsection for discussion and a subsection for contests/achievements/etc.

First off, support. Second, I'm in. Third, This benefits those who are gamblers the most. Those who aren't gamblers don't care and might think it to be a burden or a bad idea. I have a few ideas myself. Richard could allow SVU's to be given a ''host'' rank to middleman wagers like OMM/general MM but specific to only the gambling section. Hosts could do things like plant on livestream for frosty flowers or for flower poker or roll for members or something etc. Hosts could take 2.5% cut (so it's not much) for wagers for their time and maybe really big bets could have a max commission fee (Fee cap at like 100M or something) to keep people wanting to bet big instead of being turned away by huge commission fees.

Maybe games moderators/runescape mods/market mods and globals/admins could be given a power to rank members who pay a fee for a ''host'' rank. They would donate the fee for this '' host'' rank and then contact someone who could give them the rank once they provide a screenshot of the payment confirmation. This would generate income for Sythe which in turn would make it worthwhile for Richard. I'm sure there's a few people (like myself) who wouldn't mind dropping $100-300+ for a rank like this. Make the rank fee payable to a bond holder through non chargeback methods like BTC/Moneypak/RSGP to prevent people from donating for the rank, scam quitting and then stealing a bet or something. Also maybe make rank maxes where it shows under the ''host'' rank how much the person can take as a $ currency. (recruits would be $25, Serg would be $50, Bronze would be $100, Silver 250, General $500+. This is just an idea but imo = money for Sythe, worth the while and creates more activity on the forums.

I purpose Richard assign gambling section mods (those who are willing) who would moderate a new gambling section. I personally love all the ideas I just said and would be down to be apart of anything. I also wouldn't mind writing up a general rule sticky section along with different game types and how to play sections if we did this.

 

pretty sure sythes intentions for the site don't involve sanctioning an online casino.

Sythe already sells ranks for donations (technically SVU and doner are ranks, and you must pay to get them hence selling for ranks). In the end it's up to the staff for my idea. It would be good income, and make an active forum. I would never go to sleep if I had bettors as a host. I have an addiction to games of chance. Poker, Flowers, dicing, blackjack whatever it may be if theres a risk involved (even if i'm not the bettor) I get ecstatic over it.

Yeah but there's a big difference between giving out ranks for donating, and giving out ranks that verify the user as trusted and insure them for scams. It's not the worst idea... but I don't think this would ever happen.

Yeah bud you're not the only one who likes gambling, and also if you like your "xstatic" name and talk about it and make it your/ sig why'd you sign up under such a shit name.

 

Because I didn't have the name XstaticPK on rs after the acc got banned. I made a new acc and named it X static PK, then changed the name and it got sniped for a few years. I finally got it back but that was in like 2014. I made this account in 2012 and wanted a name that matched my intentions for Sythe which was to buy/sell rs gold.

 

I would love some poker on sythe
