Had a similar issue before, but it was a bit more problematic. The thing was the text for certain sites and even search engines would be distorted and skewed. It was really strange. So I just uninstalled my browser and reinstalled it. Not sure if that will work for you, but you could give it a try.
Is it only when you use google chrome or with firefox and all other browsers? If it's only chrome, then I would uninstall and reinstall it. Chrome has a lot of problems recently I wouldn't bother pin-pointing it, but just uninstall.
I swear it's your resolution.. Go to google, click any white space on the screen. Hold CTRL and scroll the middle mouse wheel up or down until the text looks normal. Or it could be your anti-aliasing properties for webpage text. That you'll have to change in your font settings. As for sythe looking normal... I don't know what to say..
