Underlined name changes or swaps.

I read the do not suggest list, but I have a new idea that isn't simply changing your name.

Instead of just name changes, what about allowing members that own another account to have their name changed to it (swapped).

Another idea is instead of getting the name changed, users with a different account could get wording under their name that says '' Also known as'' or ''owner of''

For example my name is Sellinanbuyinrsgold but under my name there would be wording that say ''also known as XstaticPK'' or ''owner of XstaticPK''.

Maybe make this a donation perk or something you can simply donate for. I'm sure there are people willing to pay for this, I'm one of them. I would gladly drop $50 to get this.

 

You could do that right now just donate to get a user title and put it in your user title.

User titles are for the "Known as".

Allowing users to just swap names makes no sense. Defeats purpose of even having the rule of name changes.

More ammo for ban evaders and people looking to scam. Also you are NOT allowed to own more than one sythe account so you should probably have a mod ban any others you might ave made before all your accounts are perm banned.

There is no rule for that. All it says is:

Interacting on Two or More Accounts/Sharing Accounts: you are strongly advised not to create more than one account at Sythe.org, but, if you do, ensure that the accounts do not interact. Sharing accounts is not allowed.

 

I don't see them allowing name changes of any kind to those who aren't on the staff team.

Nothing, however there is minimal risk in that procedure in contrast to changing your name on your current account. The biggest reason for not allowing name changes is because we're on a blackmarket forum, and identity means a lot, especially with the amount of scams taking place. Another reason would be the annoyance of keeping up with name changes.

Example:

Who should be qualified for a name change?
What happens to their previous account name?
How do you mitigate fraud in this context?
How many name changes are allowed?
How does this affect past reports on said user?

The list goes on. There is definitely a hassle to this, and I can see why they only allow this to staff and staff alone. Also, I believe you have to ban your last account if you're going to use another to replace it as your primary for the market.

 

I want a name change myself, but no support for this. It's messy enough as it is with vader accounts and repeat scammers, allowing changed names makes everything a big hassle and hard to follow.

All ideas or workarounds for name changes have likely already been considered, thus on the DNS list.

 

If you switch accounts you can't transfer any vouches with you. Granted, it's easy to just say "I used to be xxxxx so I'm trusted."

 

Which is why I said charge for the name change. Scammers usually won't pay $50 to get their name changed just to scam unless they can charge it back. So we could avoid this if the only payment methods were non chargeback methods like RSGP/BTC/WU/Moneypak Etc.
Problem is then solved with the worry of scammers. If they scam they lose their $50 donation for the name change.

 

As long as they don't cross paths in anyway, its fine to have more than one. Do you even know the rules lol? Read up before you post.

I'm not really showing support for this, first off it's confusing as f... when you see all them new names and don't know how you talking to again since you get used to the more popular people on sythe after some time. Also name's aren't really that important in my opinion, there's no real need to add such future, as I said it'd be just confusing.

As already stated, if you'd really want to change your name you can put your "new" name in your user title if you have donated enough.

 

DNS list.
It's on there for the obvious reason that users have the ability to leave the negative reputation behind and can start over on the same account.
The DNS list clearly states that you need to have extremely strong arguments to suggest something on the list, and I don't think you've addressed something new.
