    Chrome vs Firefox

After reading through the end of IE thread and seeing a lot of people posting how they use Chrome or Firefox, I'm wondering which you use, and why (other less used browsers need not apply and you need not post, this is just a Chorme vs Firefox thread.)

I use Chrome, mainly because of how streamline it is. I initially switched to Firefox from IE in around 2008 after hearing how Firefox had all these nifty features and add ons. Eventually, it seemed like every update Firefox became more sluggish and slow, and a friend told me about Chrome in early 2010, so I downloaded it, and never looked back. So fast, streamline, and the auto update (lolbotnet) is awesome since getting all the "new update!!!!" popups gets real old and I'm a lazy sack of shit who never bothers to update it.

Chrome because its faster and google owns all my data anyway at this point. Firefox's philosophy is better but since its slower I won't use it.

Pretty much in the same boat as the two of you. I switched from firefox to chrome due to speed issues.

I use Chrome. It's simply a lot faster than any other browser I've used. I initially switched over to Firefox from IE and then tried out Chrome and loved it.

Firefox is better than Chrome because it's not owned by Google (trademarks aside, FireFox is more secure, customizable and private); allowing for independence.

Chrome, used more by people and easier to configure.

I use Chrome due to its cloud functionality - I just need to sign in to Google and all of my shit is just there.

Nevermind that Chrome is just a rebranded version of Chromium though.

FireFox. One is open-source, one is not. One records your data, one does not. Why people are happy to be sheep and have all their activity uploaded to the powers that be I have no idea.

Prefer chrome over Firefox, just because its faster and connecting to it through other devices is more reliable.

Also, you realise that the vast majority of Chrome is open source right? It's called Chromium; Google just slapped a bunch of branding on it.

I was using Chrome until i installed wireshark to see how much data gets sent to google. since then i have been using firefox and anyway, the new version of firefox is faster than chrome.

if you dont believe me that a bunch of data gets sent without you knowing, open up a wireshark window and browse to www.google.com and just wait there and capture all the packets that leave your computer, it's crazy

This is why I use Chrome now. I've used it since the day the beta launched and I love that I can use it on any computer and have it exactly like I have it on my desktop.

Well they do push almost all of their shit to the open source part. Also @everyone: You can download and run Chromium which is 100% open source.

yeah dude, we're not pedos unlike you, so we don't really give a care whether google records our data or not, additionally it's mainly collected to personalize ads lol.

    Chrome.

I haven't noticed any speed difference between the browsers, nor do I care about Google collecting my search history. The only reason I prefer Chrome is because I've been using it since 2009 and it's more familiar.

    Mozilla > Google

I've used both extensively, can't tell a difference in speed. I feel better not contributing to Google's empire any more than necessary.
