    where to buy?

I would honestly suggest to buy your laptop from a online dealership such as amazon, ebay, newegg e.t.c.

Try microcenter if you have one around you, or maybe best buy. Other than that, explore your options online.

    where to buy?

I'd just order off of amazon since I believe they have their own extra warranty and a good selection. I highly recommend the Asus ROG line of laptops.

    where to buy?

I bought my laptop off Amazon so I'd recommend trying there first...

If not have a look on online, just make sure you do detailed research and use a legitimate site.

    where to buy?

Bought my i7 quad core off Craigslist for $150...got scammed...had a trial version of Win 8 on it. Called up Microsoft...found out I could just buy a $15 Win 7 disk and return it back to factory settings.

    Profit?

Yea, used that baby until I was able to build my own pc.

    Edit:

The guy had the nerve to try and sell me his other PC after I told him how I fixed the one he sold me. Laptop was worth around $500, sold cheap because he said he "upgraded". Only thing he upgraded was the OS, he didn't know you could just revert it back to Win7 after using Win 8 trail.

you can either get it from a private seller like craigslist, or you can go to best buy i bought one a while back for $500 and it runes runescape just fine. $800 you can get a great laptop, not sure where your from.

    where to buy?

I would suggest not to buy used laptops due to the older it is the less power it puts out.

    where to buy?

amazon. newegg. microcenter. NCIX. tigerdirect. Xoticpc. there's a ton! just a quick search on google will take you to a ton of different places.

Newegg does a lot of specials. XoticPC has good prices and customization options.

    where to buy?

Since you are on a budget I would suggest looking into refurbished laptops to get more bang for your buck. You buy them straight from the company for peice of mind.

I bought my laptop with a scratch (didn't even have one, and they gaurentee they are not on the screen) for $1050 reduced from $1800 straight from Dell. Most of these items were shipped to the wrong address and accidently opened, so they cannot be sold as new. You can get some good deals if you stalk the refurbished stock for a few days

    where to buy?

I head once that amazon has the best laptop prices. But look around. Tangible stores like best buy and staples usually have pretty good prices too just don't buy a service plan.

Where did you get this idea?

    where to buy?

for around 800$ any laptop with dual core i5 and a dedicated GPU can smoothly run runescape, if you go up for about 1000$/€ you can buy a lenovo y50-70 or an asus g551 gaming laptops, for the price of around 800 i'd suggest a Dell or an Asus ... HP sucks :S

    where to buy?

    Online Websites: Amazon, Newegg
In stores : Best Buy, Micro Center, Frys Electronics

Suggested brands for gaming: ASUS RoG or Lenovo

If you want a best bang for your buck gaming laptop, go with Lenovo. If you don't have a budget but also want a beast gaming laptop, go with ASUS RoG.

    where to buy?

I started looking stuff up, and just kept finding more and more. I'll put the best deals (IMO) in green

And as you will notice, i kinda bash on 15" laptops. After using 17's for years, 15" laptops just seem so small/cramped now. If you've never owned a 17" laptop, it really is worth sacrificing a little power, or paying a little more for the larger screen/keyboard.

I would immagine this has the power to run RS, and its one hell of a deal price : performance.
    http://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Ash-Si...emory-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-Windows-8.1/37065077

Pretty much the Intel version of the laptop above:
    http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-1...ie=UTF8&qid=1423138921&sr=1-3&keywords=laptop

Backorderd on amazon, maybe try looking elsewhere? Great deal overall.
    http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-17-3-I...3139086&sr=1-1&keywords=laptop#productDetails

Slightly over budget, but one nice deal:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G1XA6584

Another great contender - The A10 version (15" though)
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K2O4QO0?tag=notebookche0f-20

Another 15", but GREAT specs that can max out RS:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834314591

Another winner, 17" with great specs. Pretty close on the price range though (shipping):
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4E91UX0803

If you can nab this (or another like it), it's probably your best bet. But its used (See orange below):
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/AS-IS-ASUS-...240?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item566fc0cab8

    And just for reference:
    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Purchase-Consultation.13212.0.html

The above website is also REALLY nice for comparing mobile GPU power.

Also, check your local pawn shops. I see decent laptops at the shops near me all the time. Craigslist and other ebay links are also an option, just keep the orange text below in mind.

Depends. An Asus G73JH-RBB0X (AKA the cheap best-buy edition, that can now be found on ebay for ~$500) is a few years old, but has an I7, and a 1GB dedicated GPU that can run circles around every ~$500+ machine i've seen.. The real problem with used is: 1. Is the HDD about to fail? 2. How much longer will the battery hold out? 3. If the battery fails, is it required to run the laptop as a desktop replacement? 4. In general, how well was it taken care of? ect...
