Google Chrome and Firefox have always been so much better for me. I honestly think the only time I have ever used Internet Explorer was when I bought my new computer and needed to download Google Chrome and Firefox and IE was the only pre-installed browser lol.

I'm glad they are doing this and I really hope it's good. I'll try it out.

I have a feeling it will be something like this, some people have said the new updated IE is pretty good but with all the jokes going around its reputation has been tarnished. Change the design, tweak it, and give it a new name, then you'll have a bunch of curious users who might end up sticking with it.

Interesting, I mean I did use IE before other browsers eventually came out. They're rebranding so that'll be interesting. I'll probably still use the browsers I prefer though lol.

EDIT: Perhaps as some have suggested, they just wanted a "name change." Internet Explorer is too generic lol.

same here, i always download chrome with IE then IE will be removed.
They will never get on the level as chrome/firefox since the bad reputation has already been placed.

even if they make a good browser now, people will think it is bad from start.
For the business point of view this might affect a lot. Most company's have only IE.

Well, I used to use IE all the time and now on my Surface I got back into using it.. It's way better than it used to be but still.. there needs improvements or revamping of the entire browser.. Hate to see it go but I know that it is for the best.

Surprised I'm just now hearing about this.

My take? I'm disappointed. IE has been being out-performed by other browsers, true.

What should you do? Improve IE, announce improvements.

What did they do? "Scrap IE", re-brand a new browser, attempt to re-enter the market.

Basically IE got so much bad publicity they have to change the name just to stir up users/discussion etc...

Forgive me if I'm missing something but it seems like they're taking the easy way out.
