Toggle option for participation miniranks

I don't mind the mini-ranks but see alot of people don't like them so, support for other peoples sake.

 

I like this idea, support.

 

Not that it's going to hurry this up any but I support. I'm not sure how it would be done though. Would it be on then have to be turned off? And would it hide everyone else's or just your own for aesthetic purposes?

I think now that we've trialed them at a lower post count, we should tweak the post counts for the different sections so they aren't quite as common as well.

probably makes the most sense... I figure if you want to hide your own you can already do that manually, and if you want to hide others', you probably don't want to see yours as well.

You're right, I got things backwards. Maybe two is best then

☑ Hide others' participation miniranks

After manually removing them i'm pretty sure it only comes back, if you become inactive, then re-active in that certain section

If this is the case then no support, no point really. Can't take 30 seconds of your life to go and remove them?

If it's just coming back on its own, randomly. Then yeah, should be fixed, one way or another.

No support for the non accumulation of participation miniranks. I hate them as much as the next guy as you can clearly see since I remove them all from my own miniranks (I have like 10 unused miniranks...) but it's really easy to just remove them manually.

BUT

I would 100% support a process to overall hide participation miniranks, meaning you cannot see anyone else's nor your own.

 

I think there should always be a toggle when things are forced on you. Yes, I can manually remove them, but it gets annoying when they come back soon after. Being as I'm on my phone 90% of the time, it's an impossible task to do, and I rather not get on a desktop/laptop just to manually remove them.

 

I'll add some support. Don't have any minus participation so not a big deal for myself. But I feel for some other people.

You only have to do it once on your computer. Also, what do you mean when things are forced upon you? You're not forced to come onto this site...

 

They come back after removing them manually. They're given to you without approval. Normally events like these have toggles embedded within the update. Their reason for existence to raise popularity with the incentive of coming back to post in a specific forum. I don't need them as a reminder to post in a specific forum, and find it rather annoying that I have to continuously remove them. They do affect the way your post bit looks, especially on mobile which I'm very active on when venturing through the site. How does that logic even apply here? I, and many others were around these forums before miniranks were a brainstormed idea.

If I see someone suggesting a toggle for something that is forcefully given, there would be no reason to not support it. Not supporting something so simple as this that has no affect on anyone is silly.

I know this can be done. There is a similar toggle with user images.

It's a simple CSS fix with a touch of JS (depending on what effect/functionality you actually want). User preference is something this forum could use an update on.

If you guys really want this done, provide us with a formal description of the outcome and we'll write the code for you to use at no cost.

'And yea, higher post count wouldn't a be bad idea... or some type of secondary approval...
