Pm Inbox 90% full.

Hi, This is not a big issue and may be rather unusual.


My pm inbox is at 1,000 messages, however the vast majority of my pm's are all trade confirmations/trade related info(I would say 1000/1000), the rest are so scatter'd its unreasonable to delete 1 by 1.


My question is, I need to keep all my pm's as insurance for trades and other things( I like having backups of everything I do typically).


Can someone inform me to how I may deal with this issue?


I understand the whole "stop being lazy and just delete the un-needed ones", I think its pretty over the top to go through 910 PM's and delete what I may need at some point( Chargebacks a month ago, PM confirmation for an account being bought/sold, gp confirmation, confirmation of who someone is etc). I am rather stuck.


I actually donated partially for the extended Pm's, to avoid this issue .


If someone has some advice it'd be appreciated.

 

Download your PM's and back them up somewhere safe. Then delete the PM's in your inbox and you'll be fine.

Later on even though they're text files you can probably still use them to assist with proof, and I'm not sure but quite likely Richard could verify even deleted PM's happened.

 

Use screen capture tools (eg: puush) for new market related pms. That way you can delete pms after you've captured them.

Their all Important and or in relevance to trades, I deleted 300+ a couple weeks ago that I took 4-6 hours to hunt through.


There has got to be a way to expand this inbox or something lol.

 

Its been suggested to raise the limit and I don't know what came out of it. Like it has been suggested, just take screenshots of your new trades and they'll be just as valid as real PMs. This way you'll have it all easily accessible and it wont cluster your PM box. There's nothing you can do and I highly doubt you'll get the PM limit expansion you're wanting.

 

You don't have to delete any old ones with the method I proposed. A bigger inbox has been suggested many times to no avail. I believe the only usergroups with a bigger inbox are members of the community development team and staff. Maybe in the future the size will increase, but as of now you have to make do.

Just screenshot an archive them on computer as they come in.

 

Admins can access all your old PM's, so feel free to contact me directly if you ever need me to look through for a certain user.

Hopefully now you can delete them and feel okay about it

Good news was like "o shit" as I usually just delete the 200-300 oldest pms.

And 10k inbox wtf

 

The struggle is real. Nice to know Roary, I never knew that. I was doing the same as Bus, searching through my 1,000 PMs for ones to delete >_>

 

Whenever mine gets full I just delete everything.
My motto towards this is: if I forgot about it, it's not important.

 

I kind of take the same approach. But you never know when you need proof of pm here on sythe, especially for market trades.

 

When my inbox is full, I just delete the 2 last pages
