Regarding bond holder threads

We should have one sticky in each section for bond holders that redirects to each bond holders thread.

Bond holders currently get stickies in the most active sections (rs3 gold buying, rs07 gold buying) Also digital sales.

My issue with this is people use these forums to sell their goods, there are only a certain amount of threads on the first page, If its full of bond holder stickies that makes it so other users dont have a fair chance to get their threads at the top, since there's limited spots:






My suggestion would be to unsticky all of the bond holder threads (also letting us bump them when online) and replace all of the stickies with a "want to donate to sythe via rs3GP? look here!" thread that links all of the current bond holders threads. (obviously for all sections we have stickies in)

 

I'm a fan of removing clutter, I am however not a fan of allowing bond holders to bump those threads.
This would have the negative impact on the normal threads in that section that you are trying to resolve.

 

is there any to reach a medium where we can remove the clutter but also have a way to actively have an open thread where people can view rates ect? Maybe if we moved the threads to a different section or?

 

Tbh I'd say just leave them as they are.
The threads are stickyd, so there should be no concern of activity since they are always on top of the page.
Clutter will probably be there, as I don't see a way for it to be removed without causing other issues.

 

Instead of letting them bump the original thread, can we not just archive it, then have one sticky that has links to all the archived threads? Saves clutter & random bumping?

What about keeping the stickies here: http://www.sythe.org/digital-currency-non-game-sales/ as that is the appropriate section and just having a masterlist in the other sections (a sticky with each bond holder and their thread).

For example; if you're selling a computer for RSGP, you wouldn't put it in RS3 buying - you'd have to put it in the IRL marketplace (going by the RS3 buying rules). Bond holders are essentially selling donations, so they're appropriately placed in the digital currency and non-game sales section.

 

Okay so everyone's regular stickies in the digital and then compress all of the rs/others in one thread in their specific section. That seems fine. We would obviously use spoilers in the compressed thread for all users.


I'm a bit busy until Sunday night. I'll see if everyone likes that idea then I'll make the threads for it.

 

I'll make the changes just now, because technically those threads are in the wrong section according to section rules anyhow.
