    Why not add an SSL certificate to keep the nature of the site un-exposed?

    Not necessary. Sensitive information like credit/debit card details are not used or stored on this site. SSL is only ideal for websites that allow that information to be used like Paypal, Runescape, and Google.

    Adds quite a lot of delay to browsing the site. Also the site contains _numerous_ third party images (signatures especially) which are on http, not https. This causes most browsers to raise an annoying warning that "some of the elements on the page are not secure" etc.
