Gauging Interest (Sythe FriendsChat)

Providing one was up and running and was moderated by a few people (if I ran the chat I'd likely give myself and a few other well known/respectable people who are on Sythe + RS a rank)

Would anyone be interested in joining/idling in it?

Providing such a thing were to happen, I myself would likely only use it when I'm staking (which isn't all-that-often, generally only nights I get home quite early and reflection is down.)

Update::
After talking to people/thread feedback, if a FC were to happen the following would also likely happen:

• FC would be set to friends, you will need to PM the individual(s) running it to get your name added/to get the FC name
• Would likely be a small requirement to join (ex: 50 posts)
• Providing it became active, there would likely be a FC minirank
• We would likely receive a sticky in the RS section

Providing how the initial launch went, we would then look further ahead and see if we would want to further expand the FC with events like drop parties, etc.

 

I don't think I would ever use a thing like this.

 

Occasionally I might idle in it while doing things like Zulrah where I need to not be watching the chat, but not very often. Maybe a few hours a week at best.

 

It's a good idea, but who would join? If things like IRC and Sythechat aren't active, there are even smaller percentage of Sythe users who play RS.

 

I'd join it, idle in it while botting lol.

I was not even aware there is an IRC for Sythe tbh. I imagine there is still somewhat of a community on Sythe. There's quite a few users on this site, surely some want to interact with another. Hell I know in the past I interacted with quite a few members on a near-daily basis. We would all do Skype calls/tinychat/irc/whatever.

As for SytheChat, I do not think it's been properly advertised, nor will it become active when people just join and leave.

As for a potential Sythe Friends Chat, I'm not sure what the actual number of Sythe users on RS is. I imagine there would need to be actual events to garner activity (boss masses/drop parties/whatever) and also potentially expand outside Sythe for continued activity. Ex: The individuals who are active on RS and have RS friends would need to tell them that they should join our chat (just to talk, not to advertise Sythe.)

 

Sounds like a pretty cool chat. I'd definitely participate. It would be a great way to get to know fellow members who have similar interests.
I hope that you get a cool rs name and don't just make a mule called "Sythe Chat" haha

 

Would be cool, but as someone suggested on a different thread, it's risky as we would all be linked with a RWTing site.

Nope - puts every user in there at risk. Even if it were strictly moderated, I guarantee a line or two of Sythe related shit would get through. You don't want to give them an excuse to link accounts to Sythe.

 

Not a very smart idea at all. A fc that is linked with a virtual goods market? That's easily targeted and can get anyone linked to it banned with no questions asked.

 

We had one of these for rs3, nothing happened to anyone who joined.

I'd join. Chinning range and NMZing gets lonely on my pure, and boring even when having a twitch stream open side by side. would be nice for some people to talk to.

 

I hang out in a Runescape clan chat full of morons. If there was no Sythe or rwt talk I would join whatever you guys come up with.

Regarding a cool name, in order for that to happen, someone on Sythe would need to offer it up for use, or sell me (or whoever runs it) for a good price.

Regarding everyone mentioning that it seems risky, I don't really understand how. It's just a FC and no JMod cares enough to join our FC. Hell I doubt it would even be widely publicized. I honestly don't think it would be overly active unless people tell their friends to join it (and possibly expand to a little bit of advertising in RS.)

Now, I wouldn't go discussing RWT and/or botting in it just in-case some asshole reports you, but there would be no harm in just talking about sythe/runescape/irl/whatever. Well, at least IMO.

Edit: Also, it doesn't need to be limited to 07. FCs can be joined by both 07 and RS3 peeps
