Man.. Tough. I really see benefits for allowing the change to come, the convenience factor and the market opportunity sounds wonderful with a fresh new Exchange system. There is one big issue.. Oldschool Runescape simply did not have an Exchange... Why would we add new features that resemble modern Runescape more so than oldschool Runescape, isn't it called Oldschool for a reason. I'm not going to lie, I would probably enjoy the change, but it's simply NOT OLDSCHOOL. This ruins the the concept completely, oldschool will not be legit OSRS anymore.. They should just name the two games as RS3 and RS2. There is a ton of content already added to oldschool that is defiant to its own name. How can there be new content updates for a previous version of the game? I think there should be STRICLY 07 worlds, and Oldschool should just be renamed to RS2 so that content updates wouldn't be provided to a misleading game title. Maybe seperate account stats+bank for 5 OLDSCHOOL worlds, then the rest of the current OSRS worlds can be retitled under Runescape 2, featuring a Grand Exchange and some more new content updates. I just feel mislead allowing a game with new content to be called "Old school", because we all know it's bs.

 

If they add Grand Exchange to 07, what was the purpose of even bringing back 2007 RuneScape?

As much as it seems like a fair update, it just feels out of place.

The grand exchange was originally added in 2007!!

And the only reason why they made 2007 servers was because of the combat system and nothing else.

 

An automated trading post is better than a grand exchange. I don't play oldschool anymore so I can't vote unfortunately.

 

I think it has to happen and i certainly think it will increase player numbers also.

 

I think they should implent this, but then it'd be easier to buy items since the bank will be considered to be "GE" maybe only adding this to major banks such as Varrok West

 

I'm voting yes on all 3 of my accounts cause I'm sick of getting ignored by people when I desperately need a tele to get somewhere. They never accept unless it's a ridiculous amount of money for the item.

Grand Exchange was added in 2007, even before they removed free trade and wildy.

I voted yes just because it's so much more convenient and allows for more time to be spent on other in-game content rather than spending unnecesary time having to buy/sell items

 

Like said above, it would help not waste time spamming the same sentence. It would be a good update and greate for everyone.

I find that GE is not even close to what ruined EoC.

All the solomon's store and squeal and shit really ruined EoC plus their need to make every skill easier and easier as time went on.

Grand Exchange is something that helps everyone not waste all their time on the smallest aspect of Runescape to most people (buying and selling things)

 

Bang on. They ruined it by adding in novelty shit that no one wanted and made skills and everything else easier so new players wouldn't get annoyed and leave because they couldn't level up fast enough. They were all about the money which is fair enough as they are a massive corporation but they went too far and fucked it for themselves.

I personally think GE will be a great help, it was when it was released in 2007 and still will be now.

 

I'm in full support of the ge. Even the risk of price manipulation and skills being slightly faster like this. People talking about it hurting community interaction are silly.

Nothing is worse than standing around for 2 hours just to try and get a couple things you need tbh. Jagex has made a lot of bad updates but the ge wasn't one of them.

I'd also like to say as far as interactions go...I've never stood around any place and talked with people as much as I have stood around the GE doing absolutely nothing for weeks except meeting new people. It's like a hub where people gather and if you're gonna strike up a convo anywhere, it's definitely going to be at the GE!
